4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I had an emergency on campus and I was immediately taken care of and given blood work without an appointment. The people who work there are caring and made me feel much better.

5 College Senior

Health & Safety: Campus is incredibly safe. We have a lot of campus police officers that patrol regularly, and plenty of "blue button" stations scattered around campus that automatically call the police if activated.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: I always feel very safe on campus, even after dark. Security is always around and there are many blue lights. I have not really heard of crime on campus.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Campus police when you need them are there very quickly. I had a panic attack one night that I almost blacked out from and they were at my door within minutes.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: the campus is near Trenton and is public so anyone can go on it but the security is everywhere and will take you from building to building

TCNJ Student Health Services offers a comprehensive variety of services to students including checkups, Planned Parenthood, physical examinations, prescriptions, referrals, and counseling services. Student Health Services also offers a student health insurance plan through Bollinger Insurance that covers many basic needs and is accepted at nearby hospitals. TCNJ Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) also offers therapy sessions and referrals for students struggling with depression and other difficulties. Student Health Services also offers prevention education for diseases, mental illnesses, and other traumas, as well as smoking cessation information.

TCNJ is a relatively safe campus, due to the work of campus police and other programs such as the Alcohol & Drug Education Program (ADEP). Campus police offer bicycle and property registration, escort services, and emergency aid to all students. There are emergency call-boxes located near every building on campus for students to use. Finally, TCNJ offers emergency security and health text messaging updates to all students who register.
