TCNJ has several strongpoints when it comes to facilities. The TCNJ Library is state-of-the-art and has access to the latest material in print or available electronically. It consists of four levels; it is a vast and open space great for studying. Another area of strength is TCNJ's Eickhoff Hall. Complete with all-you-can-eat buffets, a salad bar, several different styles of grills and eateries, a sandwich bar and a pizzeria, Eickhoff Hall embodies "varietas delectat." The Brower Student Center is large and aesthetically pleasing, home to many campus club headquarters, a large bookstore, and a cafeteria. TCNJ's athletic centers for team use are excellent. There are new and quality machines for cardio and muscle training, but they are off-limits to non-team students. The public use fitness center in Packer Hall also has quality machines and staff; however, it's relatively small size and hours can make it difficult for students to fit a regular workout schedule. As a result, some students work "in" or get memberships to gyms nearby. TCNJ's swimming pool in Packer Hall is large and beautiful, and available for both public and team use.

There are construction plans for a "Campus Town" that will be erected in 2014-15. The "Campus Town" will be home to stores, organization buildings, and restaurants. This will allow for a larger and more diverse array of activities that students can engage in. TCNJ has been regularly renovating and updating its campus, with the new Art & Interactive Multimedia Building built in 2010. As TCNJ expands, it will incorporate newer and more diverse availabilities to students on campus.

The "Reduce for Good Use" program was initiated in 2011 by the Bonner Center for Civic and Community Engagement. Its aim is to promote recycling of items by students and members of the community in Ewing. It also seeks to reduce the costs of garbage pick-up. Items recycled by students are sold by the Rescue Mission of Trenton.
School Slang
  • The CONJ: "The Conj" or "The Conge" comes from TCNJ's full acronym: TCONJ (The College of New Jersey, including "of").
  • Meal equiv: The Dining Services meal equivalency program. Often, students refer to "meal equiv" when intending to use their cards for a meal at the student center cafeteria, though meal equiv can be used elsewhere.
  • Orgo: Organic chemistry; this term is often mentioned by pre-med students and other science majors, due to it being often believed to be one of the most demanding courses at the school.
  • The Stud: Despite what it may sound like, it is not a slang for a handsome Van Wilder-esque school legend. "The Stud" is a short way of saying "the student center" or the Brower Student Center. This is very widely used by students.
Traditions
  • Finals Fest: The student government's Finals Fest is held at the end of each semester and provides students with activities that help them take a break from final exams and papers.
  • Greek Week: A Greek life event that takes place in mid-spring. Many organizations host themed parties and shows.
  • Homecoming: Homecoming is a very popular event for students and alumni that lasts one week and hosts competitions and shows between student organizations, clubs, and Greek life. It takes place mid-fall semester.
  • LollaNObooza: Each fall, TCNJ hosts the LollaNObooza celebration, a fun event that provides entertainment and socializing without the use of alcohol. This event hosts rides, games, and many kiosks run by members of TCNJ's many clubs and organizations. It is a great way to meet new people, and is very popular with the students.
  • Sigma Pi's Luau: This is a yearly luau-themed open-air party hosted by the Sigma Pi fraternity. Many students attend.
Urban Legends
Rumor has it that the spirit of a deceased music student plays the piano in one of the basement rooms in the Music Building, and that this music can be heard from the outside by nearby students. This is more likely to be a living music student playing the piano, a myth made by drunk students walking back to campus on Tuesday nights.
Favorite Things To Do
On campus, students often study together, attend organization events, socialize at fraternity and club parties, attend musical and comedy shows, and watch performers at the Rathskellar restaurant.

Clubs and Organizations on Campus
TCNJ has a plethora of active clubs and organizations spanning different interests. Clubs range from major-related and career-oriented clubs, academic fraternities and sororities, social fraternities and sororities, rights and advocacy groups, and hobby groups. Clubs and organizations are not difficult to establish, provided that there are enough individuals seeking to join plus faculty support.
