Interviews & Information Sessions
To see an admissions counselor, you need to set up an appointment in advance some time between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. To set up a time to talk with the admissions department or to set up a campus tour, call the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at (512) 245-2364, or call the Visitors Center at (512) 245-8871. Visitor Center hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed for some holidays).
Campus Tours
Texas State has a few special visiting days: Bobcat Days, Transfer Days, and Business Visit Days. With Bobcat Days, you are guided around central campus, either with a group or just you and whomever you are with. You will get to talk with an adviser working in the field of study you are interested in, as well as some faculty and staff. You can also talk to a representative about the admissions process. For transfer students, all of the Transfer Days for prospective transfer students are on Fridays. Business Visit Days are specifically for students looking to get into the McCoy College of Business. Prospective students get a tour of the campus, a business basics information session, and an option to sit in on a class in McCoy Hall.
Overnight Visits
Texas State offers an overnight event known as a Counselor Showcase, where high school students and transfer students are given the chance to experience Texas State firsthand and learn about all it has to offer. There are various presentations that go on, including information on admissions, the University Honors Program, residence life, academic departments, financial aid, and scholarships. Overnight accommodations and meals are taken care of during these sessions. For more information, visit
