Greek Life: From what I have learned there are many wonderful greek organizations on campus that do wonderful things for the community, school, and each other. They bring spirit to the campus and are great supporters of things that happen on campus.

Athletics: I will be an incoming Freshmen and what I have witnessed so far is great! I will on the Texas State cheer squad and I see just how important the Athletics department is. They support their teams and the community with pride, as well as the school, community and students. I look forward to being a part of all the traditions they have and supporting my school, teams and community.

Health & Safety: There have recently been a lot of burglaries and assaults on campus. I dont ever feel comfortable leaving the library late at night.

Overall Experience: I have had a few professors I think could have tried better to connect with students, but I've also had professors that were amazing and taught me so much.

Overall Experience: I did research with my zoology professor. It was very educational and helped show me what I would really like to do after I graduate. I also was a Chemistry lab instructor for the chemistry department and had tons of fun teaching!

Campus Housing: Although I lived in one of the oldest and most out dated dorm hall, Bexar, I really did not mind it. I got to know a lot of people and the rooms were fairly spacious! Bexar was the perfect distance from everything, rather than smack dab in the center of campus.

Greek Life: I joined a sorority chapter here on campus during my freshman fall semester. I loved getting to know so many other women attending Texas State, but it was extremely expensive. It became almost impossible to be in a sorority and work enough to pay for dues. I quit my sorority sophomore year in order to pay for rent and tuition.

Athletics: Our athletic facilities are extremely nice and up to date, but our teams are not very good compared to other universities.

Overall Experience: I love the city of San Marcos and everything it has to offer. I am a wildlife biology major so I enjoy being able to walk to the river between classes as well as how much everyone appreciates the wildlife and nature around us. Texas State University has continued to grow rapidly since my freshman year and it only continues to get better! So many of our academic departments and buildings have been improved and are currently being upgraded to make up for the amount of students we are gaining.

Health & Safety: We are informed when things happen on campus but it is also rare for stuff to happen

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus

Greek Life: Greek life helps to involve students. I'm not involved in Greek life but I do see its presence but they don't make me feel like an outsider.

Overall Experience: I love the beautiful environment and the students are really helpful and friendly. Teachers are great. I would choose it again because I love the dance program.

Athletics: I see a lot of student involvement and school spirit for the varsity teams. I myself plan on joining a spirit team.

Greek Life: I'm very against greek life, but for those that are in it, do indeed love it.

Athletics: The athletic departments are pretty large, but attendance isn't all that great.

Overall Experience: So far, this school has been so amazing. Everything I've learned has been extremely helpful, both academically and in general.

Health & Safety: I feel safe knowing that we have the emergency towers on campus and they can get to us at any time! we have the bobcat bobbies which can take us to our dorms at night so we don't walk ourselves, or the night drivers that can take us after 12 to the apartments. We also get notices and emails of any suspicious behaviors!

Overall Experience: Most of my professors really love what they are teaching, they have office hours but are always wiling to meet outside of those times if you have conflicts. They give many sources to help if you are having trouble and many examples and study tips!

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Texas State has many connections to the degrees they offer! Many majors offer internships while still in school, and many majors require and internship! There are also club toward your major that you can join that will even further tour connections to the field you wish to go into.

Campus Housing: I hate my housing only because I have one of the oldest dorms and the size of my dorm is tiny! and with two girls its hard finding your own space with eh room being so small!!!

Greek Life: I am personally in a sorority and I love it. The process of rushing is just like a job interview. Basically there are two parts, Just like a job interview they have an interview with each and every girl asking them questions to see if they would make a great asset to the sorority. Sorority rushing takes it one step further, because they have you meet and greet the girls to see if you get along with the rest of the girls. After that they try to observe if you meet all the qualities that are in their purpose and pillars. Basically the same as trying to get a job. The interviewer will try and see what you can offer the company and if you stand for the same issue the company does as well. I love being greek, meeting new people and having a community of girls to share good and bad news too! Always knowing someone is there for you!! Also being able to represent the school with the things your organization has done is a pretty special feeling too! Being able to make memories that will live on forever, and becoming apart of the Texas State history!

3 College Freshman

Athletics: I honestly have not been to many sporting events, aside from tailgates and a few football games, but the tailgates are always great! You get to meet fun people and different companies are always trying to get their name out there and give out apt of free stuff!! Its just a fun way to relax after a ling stressful week!!

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
