4 College Freshman

Technology: Overall, the computing experience on campus is pretty outstanding in every facet.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Located really close to Austin, so choices are plenty. There is also a train station and bus station in town.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Occasionally you will hear stories of issues, but I feel safe walking around day or night.

4 College Freshman

Academics: The business college is fantastic! Beautiful, modern and great instructors in my computer information systems major.

3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Not enough housing for most students, but alot of new construction of nice housing.

4 College Freshman

Weather: Hot days make for lots of tubing and volleyball!

3 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Policies and help is available to the students, but it is not uncommon for partying to happen with drinking and some drugs.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Other students say they have fun, but I never really checked out the scene.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: Now that the school is Division I, we are getting to play better competition and all of the facilities have been ramped up for the bigger crowds.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Very diverse population in every regard, which makes it great!

3 College Freshman

3 College Junior

Administration: You won't have to worry about anything if you're smart.

5 College Junior

Diversity: Unless you're straight up irratating or verbally belligerent, you'll be fine. With 9,000 new freshman this last year there is no problem with making friends or finding a place to fit in. College is what you make of it, don't blame college if you can't find friends or be happy.

5 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: Living on campus is fun the first year, but getting your own place with friends just feels so surreal and awesome and the feeling doesn't go away. You get what you pay for, simple as that. Most apartments have a tram stop in front or near them. All apartments will expect the same from you. There are no cons.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Lots of majors to pick from and professors are great

4 College Freshman

Majors: Was not difficult and have not ran into any problems

4 College Freshman

Diversity: A very diverse campus, many different cultures and people.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Not really much to say about it. It is very reasonable

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Good football school, but also love other sports..

4 College Freshman

Weather: It is Texas weather.. Its the Hill COuntry so the best views

5 College Freshman

Transportation: Buses and the bus drivers are awesome. Very friendly and convienient

Campus Housing: It is like any other college. Love my room and my roommates

4 College Freshman

Academics: Great school, and can always give you a challenge if you try, and study

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Pretty good food most restaurants in most towns but also have some great restaurants ive never heard of.

4 College Junior

Administration: It's pretty strict when it comes to parking because it is so limited. Also on drugs. Drugs are bad. Drinking is semi strict at tailgates. Cheating is also a big deal at Texas state Those are the only things they really monitor.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
