Diversity: Unless you're straight up irratating or verbally belligerent, you'll be fine. With 9,000 new freshman this last year there is no problem with making friends or finding a place to fit in. College is what you make of it, don't blame college if you can't find friends or be happy.

Off-Campus Housing: Living on campus is fun the first year, but getting your own place with friends just feels so surreal and awesome and the feeling doesn't go away. You get what you pay for, simple as that. Most apartments have a tram stop in front or near them. All apartments will expect the same from you. There are no cons.

Off-Campus Dining: Pretty good food most restaurants in most towns but also have some great restaurants ive never heard of.

Administration: It's pretty strict when it comes to parking because it is so limited. Also on drugs. Drugs are bad. Drinking is semi strict at tailgates. Cheating is also a big deal at Texas state Those are the only things they really monitor.

3 College Junior

Technology: There are many computer labs and laptops available to rent. The internet can be slow at times but overall I haven't had much problems.

Greek Life: I am I'm a sorority at Texas state and it has been the best decision I have ever made. I have made many friends through Greek life and it has made my college experience more than I could have asked for. I also live in the sorority house this year and it has definitely been one for the books. I have had the chance to get close to girls I never thought I would have been friends with. Greek life is a great way to get involved and have a good time.

Off-Campus Housing: I have lived off campus for 2 years now and I have found it to be a great experience. The price per month is pretty expensive. There are not many nice apartments close to campus so you have to take the bus.

4 College Junior

Drug Safety: Many people drink at Texas state but it's no worse than at any other school. It's college.

5 College Junior

Local Area: There is a lot to do in town and the local people are very friendly. The location of the school is great.

Campus Housing: I genuinely enjoyed my dorm experience.

Academics: There is a lot of homework and projects that come with being in the McCoy business school but it is worth it. The teachers are very willing to help you with anything they can including jobs and internships.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: The outlets are close, and you can take campus buses to them until 6, the river is good to swim year round, TONS of cultural stuff from all the different native groups.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
