3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: It just wasn't my type of school personally. If you want to have a lot of school pride though this is the place to be.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: Off campus housing is awesome. Plenty of places to choose from.

Party Scene: You get what you want out of partying at Texas State. Big parties get old fast though.

Weather: Bipolar weather, but if you've lived in Texas for any period of time that's already obvious.

2 College Freshman

Technology: Texas State wifi sucks. It has it's moments but most of the time it is a hassle.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: I had a great experience with financial aid. I got more than I expected.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: Dining is alright. It'd be much better if they had healthier options.

4 College Junior

Transportation: Love having the bus, it is wonderful.

College Junior

Campus Food: I haven't eaten on campus.

College Junior

Administration: I haven't dealt with any of this.

3 College Junior

Technology: Have not really paid attention.

3 College Junior

Athletics: School Spirit is great, as are the sports and facilities.

4 College Junior

Local Area: Very friendly and homey, but with lots to do.

4 College Junior

Diversity: There is extreme diversity, no discrimination.

2 College Junior

Parking: Permits are too expensive, and spots are never open. It's pointless to buy a permit, much easier to ride a bike or the bus.

4 College Junior

Diversity: The diversity on campus is really good. Most all students are accepting and there is something on campus for every student to be a part of.

5 College Junior

Local Area: The atmosphere in my school's town is great. There is always something to do and if not, then there are surrounding places that can be visited as well. The people are all friendly and its really directed toward the college students that live there.

4 College Junior

Off-Campus Housing: The housing off campus has great variety. It allows students to decide on what type of housing they are most comfortable living in.

Greek Life: Greek life is pretty involved on campus. It is a great opportunity for you to have more campus involvement and become a member of something that is bigger and has deeper meaning.

3 College Junior

Drug Safety: We do not promote binge drinking but if you are going to drink then they would rather have you do it safely and responsibly.

3 College Junior

Administration: The strictness of campus is pretty good. All students are aware of what they can and cannot do. We are also a Non-smoking campus so that has had some positive effects along with it as well.

4 College Freshman

Guys & Girls: Us bobcats are sexy beasts.

Scholarships: My financial aid process went very smoothly. I did it all online and never once had to deal with going to the office on campus. Nearly all of my tuition, dining plan, and dorm were paid for through various grants and loans.

3 College Sophomore

Scholarships: I am constantly having to submit forms and emails to get everything taken care of.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Could have nicer places. They get old after a few times visiting. A lot of places are just too overwhelming and hot.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
