Campus Housing: I did not live in a dorm, but I have sisters that did. They became my home away from home, definitely apart of the experience

Greek Life: I am in a sorority, so Greek life is very close to my heart. Greek life at Texas State is amazing, there is a lot of diverse chapters that do a lot of wonderful things. There are tons of philanthropy events every year, the sororities and the fraternities do a lot of events together, and there is a lot of support for other Greeks events. Greeks life is not just hanging out with Greeks, the chapters here have taken great steps to include other organizations in Greek events. Recruitment is a lot more low key then other recruitment at bigger Texas Schools as well.

Athletics: Even though our football team is not that good a lot of people come out and support. There is tailgating which is my favorite part, and the stadium has really good hotdogs.

Overall Experience: My advisors varied, some cared and others just told me what to take and then "throw me out". Professors care mostly and want you to come to office hours. Class sizes can vary from large to small it just depends on what you like. Courses are all over the bored. There are a lot of housing options both on and off campus!

Overall Experience: The alumni network is pretty good, there are tons of employers on campus! The career center really wants to help the students out and actively sends out emails and tries to get the students involved.

Campus Housing: Absolutely loved my RA, as well as the activities planned! I will remember the memories I made and the girls I met forever!

Greek Life: I am in a Fraternity on campus its a gender inclusive honors fraternity known as Phi Sigma Pi, its amazing, fun, and its like a second family.

I also had the opportunity to try out for the sororities on campus and found that it wasn't my fit.

Health & Safety: We have bobcat bobbies to escort people around campus at night. We have free counseling services and cheap health care services.

Campus Housing: I lived in a very old dorm. The newer dorms are a lot nicer but would prefer more options without a community bathroom.

Greek Life: I'm greek and I love it. We do not have a greek row but some of the chapters have amazing houses. There are always philanthropy events being hosted.

Athletics: They are consistently trying to improve the athletics. The facilities are great and I think school spirit is great but athletic participation needs to improve.

Overall Experience: I love Texas State. Coming to this school was honestly one of the best decisions I ever made and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Party Scene: I'll be quite honest, I haven't been to a party as of yet.

4 College Sophomore

Party Scene: Like I just mentioned, I have not attended one yet, but when I do I shall comment on such event.

Academics: Its a wide rage of professors and grading systems which make you stay on your toes.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
