Overall Experience: I'm very pleased to say I've had an excellent experience with the McCoy School of Business at Texas State University. With the McCombs School at University of Texas as the primary competitor in the area I was quite surprised at the quality of the business school at Texas State. My overall experience with the administration has not been as satisfactory but as I complete my degree I can say I am satisfied with the education I have received, all things considered.

Campus Quality: The rec is great for working out. They have an indoor track, basketball courts, volleyball courts, even yoga classes, and more. The campus isn't outstandingly beautiful, but it's a pretty campus that's always really lively. The LBJ Student center is great. It's where they have an abundance of student services, a dining area, and the bookstore. There isn't a lot of green space at all on campus, but that isn't an issue for me. Students at TxSt have a lot of bobcat pride! So be ready for football games and other campus events.

Party Scene: TxSt is a crazy party school. I had the best time of my life in the beautiful city of San Marvelous. So much so that my grades suffered miserably, so be aware of the same happening to you. It's definitely a lot of fun, even for people under 21. There's multiple parties every weekend, sometimes Thursdays. It's an open door policy usually and they don't get shut down by the police until well into the night. The best parties are at Copper Beech, Wildwood, The Avenue, University Heights 2, The Village, and sometimes The Retreat.

Local Area: San Marcos is in the perfect location just about an hour from both san antonio and austin and there is plenty of things to do! And it is gorgeous!

3 College Freshman

Scholarships: It took forever to get everything taken care of and it takes them forever to get back with you on anything, get it done early and it should be a pretty smooth process but when you wait the process only gets more difficult!

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
