Overall Experience: The year I have spent at Texas State has been a good introductory year to the college life style. The city of San Marcos is a safe and fun one. There is so many community based activities that I really enjoy. My school is unique because our motto is diversity. It strives on welcoming different people from different places and backgrounds. It is a very welcoming place. If I could do it all over I would definitely choose Texas State again. I have made so many amazing friends since attending school there. Lifelong friends I would say. Not to mention that San Marcos was far enough from my hometown where I could go home if I needed too but it also was a means based trip if I went home. I was free but able to go home and be grounded if I wanted.

Overall Experience: I've met a lot of great people here. My professors don't seem like they care about students passing or failing. Some do, most don't. I feel like professors play a huge role and all classes I've taken so far I feel most professors just think they just need to talk about they're PowerPoint slides that they've used since they've started working here.

Overall Experience: I know a lot of people who've had great opportunities after college. And I do appreciate that.

Health & Safety: I often get emails about sexual assaults. And although it's hard to prevent it I don't see a lot of advertisement going to people who have been victimized. And I do truly believe that there could be more done towards this issue

Campus Housing: I remember living in sterry hall. And although it was a tad expensive I did feel close to a lot of people. And that was the most social I've ever been going to college. It was a great experience.

Greek Life: There's nothing terrible about wanting to fit in. I'm an outsider looking in so I can't really say how great being in a fraternity or a sorority would be but I could imagine it being fun.

Athletics: You know how football is super important in Texas and if there's not a great football team people have a hard time looking at any of the other sports. I'm not bashing our football team they're trying they're hardest. I do wish that there was more school spirit though.

Overall Experience: I my experience, I've had professors be fair to how they grade and be fair to how they approach classes. I just wish they honestly took into consideration that everyone learns a different way and just standing up in the front and reading off a power point is not the only way of teaching, or instructing a class.

Party Scene: Nightlife on the weekends it nuts. The square might as well be the worlds fair, but on an average week night, the night life is pretty average.

Party Scene: It is not really a secret that Texas State has great parties, but I will say that they do not overwhelm the school and if you are not really into partying, then I doubt you will be affected. If you are into parties, they are definitely around.

Academics: Our academics are great and I have been getting better I feel. I have had a Doctor for almost every subject I have taken at Texas State and have been pleased with almost all of my professors.

Diversity: I would say that for the most part, the campus is a very accepting place. The school is so diverse and I have never myself witnessed confrontation based out of the diversity of the campus.

Drug Safety: I would say that there are not crazy parties going on in the dorms off campus, but as for the majority of the students who live off campus, it is a different story.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
