3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of options.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: It was a very easy process for me, but a little bit tedious.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: There isn't always a big variety of food.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Housing: There were numerous of options that were to choose when looking for off-campus housing. Every complex has their goods and bads. I always believe you get what you pay for so the more you pay for a place, the better the living but I believe the prices are reasonable!

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are a lot of options with a lot of student discounts which is so convenient for college students. The food tastes good, too!

4 College Freshman

Administration: They do whatever it takes to keep the campus safe. They know what's best for us.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: From the choices they had, it was delicious. Just wish there were more varieties!

Campus Housing: I lived in Falls dorm and it was just perfect. It is furthest from campus but well worth the walk! Made tons of friends while living here!

3 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: I lived at the retreat and I enjoyed it. Management sucks though

Campus Food: I like that chickfila and starbucks are available. Commons is pretty good usually

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I lived in an old, fairly small dorm so I didn't care for it too much

4 College Freshman

Athletics: At Texas State there is so many school spirit. I guarantee you will have fun at a sport event.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There's many restaurants that offer students discount. Just make sure you have your ID at all times.

3 College Freshman

Administration: Texas state cares a lot about their students and only want the school community to be safe.

3 College Freshman

Campus Food: My main issue with the campus food was there wasn't enough healthy options. I mostly ate at wild greens.

4 College Freshman

Campus Housing: I love living on campus, the experience helped me make friends faster. The dorm I was living was in the middle of the campus and it wasn't difficult getting to class on time. My only issue was parking, because even if i had a residents permit it was difficult to park close to my dorm.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
