4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The campus focuses greatly on getting prepared for an interview and getting ready to go out in the workplace. Each semester each field offers a job fair so the students have an advantage to see what is expected from the employers.

Campus Housing: I live in one of the newest dorms, Gallardia. I absolutely love this dorm! I feel free, you get to meet a whole bunch of new people and it is super clean!

Athletics: I am a big fan of football and the schools football team is not so great that is why not a lot of students attend them.

Academics: Everything has been pretty smooth. I just had one problem with one professor

Overall Experience: One professor that I had belittled me and didn't let me explain to her why I felt my paper didn't deserve an F. I have never received an "F" on a paper before. I loved her class so I went off on what I was taught. She was a really picky grader and absolutely rude. She asked me why did I care so much about the class. I was shocked that a educator would even ask that. She was an older woman, which seemed like she only was grading all of us out of her misery of being old.

Overall Experience: I have met so many great interesting people. The environment is nice as well. I like all the nature that surrounds the university.

Athletics: I went to one football game this semester and it was quite fun.

Health & Safety: I never really see police on campus. They do have bobcat bobbies you can call and have pick you up at night so you don't have to walk alone at night.

Campus Housing: Some of the dorms seem very nice. However, I live in Jackson hall and it is always very dirty and is so small it feels like a prison cell.

Greek Life: There are not as many sororities or fraternities as other schools. There houses aren't located near campus and they don't seem to have a huge role on campus, however, those involved seem to love the organization.

Athletics: I went to a couple of the football games and they weren't very well attended. Sports events aren't advertised or attended very well.

Overall Experience: My first semester at Texas State has been very enjoyable! There are groups and clubs suitable for anyone and it was very easy to get plugged in. I ended the semester with all A's and one B and I am very proud of myself.

Overall Experience: I find the beauty of the campus the most unique feature of Texas State University. Not only is the campus beautiful but also I feel like I have become a part of a community that I can call home. The classes are challenging which makes me work ten times more to be the best that I can possibly be. I have met so many great people that I didn't know existed in real life. Texas State has endless opportunities to give their students to ensure a successful education. I feel like the professors care and the harder I try the more my accomplishments go noticed. I do not regret attending Texas State because I have acculturated into a diverse community.

Overall Experience: Texas State is such a great school and I've had the time of my life the past 3 years here! The only thing that doesn't make it excellent is the football team isn't so hot. I wish we were a lot better and in a higher division. Tailgating is always fun but being defeated at most games suck. Regardless of the outcome there's always a celebratory party afterwards and more fun to be had post game.

Academically it is very rigorous and up to par with any other school... If you try hard you will obtain the grade you want. Make sure to always read the syllabus and ask if your professor has the book on reserve so you don't shed unnecessary money. Sometimes if you go to the library and ask if any professor has that specific book on hold, they might...even if it's not your professor you can always check them out! I love that!

Texas State was a great choice for me and I love it! EAT EM' UP!!!

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
