Overall Experience: I'm not sure what career prospects are like in relation to a degree from TXST

Health & Safety: we get text messages about frequent robberies in the parking lots and near dorms/apts

Overall Experience: Compared to other universities I've attended, only TXST made me realize that I wanted to go on to grad school. Other schools made me want it to end asap! The professors in the Communications Dept are some of the best professors I have ever met!

Athletics: It's not bad, but it just doesn't seem like people are really into it here.

Overall Experience: I am not quite sure how other prospects will look at Texas State when it comes to getting a job. We definitely have grown a lot in the past few years so hopefully our reputation will change.

Greek Life: Basically if you do not join a sorority or fraternity then you are not important.

Athletics: There is not much support for our athletic program which is disappointing.

Overall Experience: One of the main reasons i chose my school was because of the location. However, i do not like how it is mainly associated as being a party school.

Health & Safety: Although it is college, and malicious people is something that is inevitable the campus provides a variety of safety routes. For example, they have a incident report that is emailed to all student incase of a crime or emergency on campus. Also, they have bobcat bobbies which is upd taking you to a destination for you to not walk alone in the dark.

Overall Experience: Classes sizes vary from big to small, but it all depends on how good the professor is. Some are great, some ar not so great. My tip is to go to rate my professor.com before getting in their class.

Campus Housing: I live at Sterry Hall and it is a very old dorm with small spaces and community bathrooms. Its not so bad, but its too much money to have to share a room and bathroom with a lot of other girls. Taking groceries up four flights os stairs because it has no elevators is also a hassle.

Overall Experience: I love Texas State. The downside is some professor are not as good, but I have had some amazing professors that have helped me achieve my goal of being on dean's list. Several help outlets are open for students to succeed even if they're struggling. On top of that, we have a beautiful campus full of everyday activities. If i were to re-do my selection process, Texas State would still remain on my list.

Overall Experience: I'm questioning the value of my degree but I think Texas State is working hard to be more competitive in research

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
