Campus Quality: In the Mccoy business school that Texas State has, there is a stock ticker. The school not only offers being able to take an actual stock trading class to graduate students, but to undergraduates as sell. The students are allowed to invest the school's actual money. It is a great concept!

Campus Quality: Student Rec Center – The Student Recreational center is phenomenal! It offers so much to the students. There is a diverse range of activities including different yoga classes and rockclimbing. It has state of the art technology throughout. It is a new building and looks awesome. Texas State did a great job with this facility.

Overall Experience: A Great Place to Be – I love it here at Texas State. The people here are the people I will know for the rest of my life. They set up a great living and learning environment. Everyday I learn something new and there is always something new to be explored. It is a never-ending adventure and I cant get enough if it.

Greek Life: The Greeks Try but the Underdogs Prevail – I am personally not in a sorority or really know very many guys in fraternities. They are all constantly in the quad and try to get new pledges or people to support them. Most of them are very polite and kind to everyone, others hold up the stereotype of being jerks and superficial people. I stick with my non greek friends and we have fun without any of the frat or sorority parties.

Academics: School Worth Going to – At Texas State University, the professors do so much to make sure that you get a good education for your money. I have always been able to go to study sessions or talk to the teacher one on one without a problem. The campus also has serval places to study and get help on various subjects. I enjoy every day I am here.

Majors: Student Teaching – I am an education major and student teaching is like an internship for us. We do not get paid for the time we put in the classrooms but we gain so much knowledge and experience with the teachers and students.

Drug Safety: Drinking Is More Popular – I am not aware of many drugs used by students, but I think alcohol is the party favor of choice.

Health & Safety: Safe Campus – There have been a couple of crimes on campus, but I have always felt safe at the university grounds. The school communicates very well and promptly if something does occur.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I only care about watching the Rugby team practice. Oh, and we have the most amazing Recreational Center!

3 College Sophomore

Diversity: Texas State educates folks from every walk of life, rich to poor, Catholic to Atheist. No matter what your background, there is a place for you. There is even a Quidditch TEAM here, so what does that tell you?

Campus Food: Available Restaurants – Texas State features many restaurants, such as Pizza Hut, Chic-fil-A, Blimpie, Einstein Bagel Bros, and many other food choices are available. If you are on scholarship and live on campus, meal plans may be covered entirely.

Party Scene: PARTY SCHOOL....Maybe? Maybe Not? Of course, Texas State University is involved in numerous about being a "party school." That could be the case or could not be the case. Depending on your individual objective or plan in college, excessive partying may be what is more important on your agenda. On the other hand, more studious students may find it more beneficial for them to stay in most weekends to get their studying done and save the partying for a different time. The nightlife is not a forced thing here, but fun every once in awhile definitely helps relieve stress brought on by homework, exams and other personal issues that may come a student's way.

Diversity: We're a Family in Bobcat Country – Texas State is home to a diverse group of people of all races, religiions, backgrounds and walks of life. We encourage acceptance amongst our student body by hosting events on campus that begin as early as New Student Orientation. At this time, students are introduced to others from their class and guided on how to get to know others on a more personal level. Fellow bobcats also create clubs and organizations that keep current and prospective students informed on how to better encourage acceptance and tolerance. Organizations like Texas State Allies form a group of LGBT students and supporters who are advocates for acceptance and freedom of sexual orientation. There are many more to name, but that just goes to show that Texas State has a little bit of everything, and we continue to welcome even more diversity every year.

Campus Food: Bobcat Dining! I definitely cannot complain as far as dining on campus goes. Compared to the meals provided by other universities, Texas State University-San Marcos deserves at least four stars. Theres plenty of options for students when it comes to dining types, food options and proportions. Texas State has two types of dining on campus: Restaurant-style and buffet-style. The restauarant-styled halls consist of Chick-fil-a, Blimpies, Starbucks and other chains of fast food. Buffet-styled dining halls on campus are Harris Hall and Jones Hall. They provide all-you-can-eat-service for few meal points. Inside of these dining halls are a variety of stations that meat needs of students with different taste buds. There's mexican choices like tacos and burritos, italian pasta and pizza, homestyle like cheeseburgers, grilled cheese and chicken fried steak, a salad and fruit bar, juice bar and dessert bar. These proportions are solely based on how much food the student wishes to consume and at restaurant- styled dining halls, the proportions are quite generous, including an entree', side, and drink for one meal point. Bobcat is not perfect but it sure is satisfying. Come check it out!

Transportation: Campus Bus Use. the trams are awesome, wish there were more buses though

4 College Junior

Administration: Strictness at School – the school doesn't really care what you do, as long as you dont park where your not allowed or smoke.

5 College Junior

Campus Food: Eating on Campus – I enjoy the food at the student center, you have your pick of mediterranean, chick fil a, or maybe something healthy like a fruit smoothie.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: My experience here is limited to one semester, however, I love it. The classes are a little difficult and I don't live on campus but I will be next semester. Overall great so far

5 College Sophomore

Greek Life: I am not involved in Greek life however, Texas State does not pressure students into Greek life and Greek Life is not dominate.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: Texas State allows every type of nationality, religion, and ethnicity to express their views and does not try to influence their own beliefs on the students

2 College Junior

Campus Food: Dining Halls – Typically pricey. Hit the dollar menu every day instead.

3 College Junior

Technology: Computer Labs – They are nice but every semester you are given 75.00 dollars out of your tuition to print 3 cent pages. Yes that is more than sufficient but I don't think they should limit your printing.

Overall Experience: So Far So Good – Walking the hills every day gets on my nerves. The buses fill up quickly during rush hour so I choose to walk, or ride my bike. So many e-mails about crime...

5 College Junior

Campus Housing: 1St Year Required to Live on Campus – The dorms are great. San Jacinto hall, San Marcos Hall, College in.

College Junior

Academics: Great Professors – The university provides variety of labs with excellent computers. Professors are knowledgeable on the material. Most have been teaching for a very long time. The department keeps improving every year. Obstacle for CS majors is the study/work to avoid commuting.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
