Health & Safety: A lot of

Robberies but mainly at night.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: The courses were mostly challenging and interesting. Most tended towards a less formal, more conversational style of instruction when the class size permitted it.

3 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: There are lots of job fairs and career services resources at students' disposal.

3 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: Some areas could be more well lit, and security could patrol more often during the evening and early morning hours when assaults are more likely to occur.

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: Some dorms aren't as nice as others, but you hey what you pay for.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: Smaller here compared to

Other schools but still fun and a great way to network as well as meet people.

Athletics: Although we are D1, we aren't in big divisions so games aren't near as important or fun.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: The school has been very helpful. As a nontraditional student, I faced unique challenges that I was only able to overcome with the help of this institution.

Overall Experience: For my first semester of college, Texas State of was awesome! It was easy to transition from home life to college life at TXST. Everyone is nice and free spirited, you're allowed to be yourself at all times. If I didn't go to Texas State, I don't know where else I would be!

Health & Safety: On campus, I feel like I'm in good hands. The security here is pretty tight, not many things get past them. Their are security or police officers sitting around watching. So, I feel protected, feel like someone always have an eye on me. Plus, they have a service system that comes to pick people up and takes them to their house at night if a student does not feel comfortable walking home alone.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: All the classes I have encountered so far at Texas State are helpful, and has good quality. The classes are not that big, at least not most of them. All the professors make sure they help their students the best way they can, in class and during their open office hours.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I have only had one semester so far. Three of my teachers were very well educated in their fields. Another had a lot of information, but was not very organized. Class size was good, course choices are great, but the desks are uncomfortable.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: They have regular job fairs and a career center I have not had an opportunity to check out yet.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I have not heard about any sexual assaults on or around campus. There has been some gun violence, but the police seem to be well trained.

3 College Junior

Greek Life: I have very little interaction with Greek Life. I have seem them in the quad trying to get recruits.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Texas State has a really good History Department. Some of the teachers are good at what they do and have a passion for their subjects.

Texas State is such a friendly, open, accepting university. It's not a super huge college, so the people aren't stuck-up or cocky like you might find at bigger universities. It's very relaxed on campus, and there's a very chill atmosphere surrounding the city of San Marcos, as well. You can feel at home at Texas State, and you'll be surprised to find how easy it is to make friends.

Texas State is superb in making sure its students are offered the opportunities they need to gain skills that will make them the most competitive in their field. Being a smaller university makes it even easier for academic advisers and professors to take the extra time to talk to students one-on-one about their future career paths. The professors and advisers are always eager to help.
