Overall Experience: It was a fun campus when I first arrived, but going into my second semester the nightlife disappeared. That's the only bad thing about the area.

Overall Experience: The school is a great school, and they are open minded, they were very friendly.

Overall Experience: TLU is a really cool school and the people are great but the nightlife/ weekend life is pretty bad.

Overall Experience: I love my school. I love how small the population is and the teacher to student ratio is great because you get a lot more one on one experience and help. If I could choose all over again, I would choose this school in a heart beat.

Party Scene: TLU used to be so much fun until the administration cracked down...but now, there is nothing that goes on during the weekend and everyone complains.

Administration: I like how strict TLU is with visiting hours and the guest policy in that a guest must be escorted by the people they are with because I do not want to feel uncomfortable in a space where random people can walk around

Off-Campus Housing: too expensive for what it's worth...and some apartment complexes won't lease to college students...

Off-Campus Dining: Not a wide variety for those with certain food necessities

Campus Food: As a student with a chronic disease, there are not many super healthy varieties of food for those with an irritable bowel disorder. lots of the foods are greasy and have too many carbs. Any type of healthy-ish foods are over cooked and not appealing.

Scholarships: I wish I could've received more scholarships since I am currently going to be at TLU for two extra years.

Campus Housing: TLU needs to update their dorm buildings. They are functional, but not for two people to live in each room.

Guys & Girls: There are a lot of really friendly people at TLU. You just have to be willing to step out of your comfort zone and talk to people!

Majors: I really enjoy my majors program. Athletic training at TLU is a very strong and successful program to be a part of. Working with 8 other classmates in your grade allows for more one on one with your preceptor. The preceptors in my program are very helpful and meet with us twice a semester to talk about progress within the program and how they can help. They are always available to talk and advise their students. They make learning our competencies easy and fun!

Health & Safety: The administration and student body take great responsibility in educating and trying to prevent sexual assault. The university provides great resources and information is readily available around campus.

Athletics: Athletics at TLU are great! I feel as though we are often overlooked because we are a small D3 school, but over the past few years our athletics have been very successful in winning conference, conference tournaments, and even finishing in the top 3 in conference. The athletics at TLU continues to grow and become even more successful.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Most people who first look at this small school have doubts about its overall size. But it is not about the buildings or the square footage of campus that's important: it's the people. TLU's slogan is, "Small Classes, Big Difference." This is very true. Students have a lot of interaction with professors, and the one-on-one attention is key. Getting to know professors helps light a fire for many students because they want to be the best they can be for the professors. Many students say that TLU helped them realize what they're interested in, what they enjoy learning, and what they want to do with their life. As a small private school, TLU doesn't have the same bells and whistles as a lot of large, state-funded schools, but TLU has an atmosphere that makes students feel right at home.

This is a small school, so if you come in with the wrong attitude, you will obviously leave with one. With a positive attitude, most students leave with a solid educational foundation and a solid social circle. And, just like at any school, there will be immature students and students whose minds have not yet left the world of high school, but stupidity is everywhere, and if you use that as evidence against any prospective school, you will be sorely depressed. TLU is truly a great place where good things happen.
