3 College Freshman

Local Area: Local atmosphere is only good when off campus. Campus life is boring and in the city there's not much to do unless you are 21 and over it seems. There might be more to do but transportation without a car is awful. The buses aren't very reliable

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: The Gulch is just a few minutes away from the school and offers upscale living and amentities.

3 College Freshman

Local Area: I attend Danville Area Community Colllege. The closest big city we live near is Champaign Illinois in Danville there is nothing to do only thing here is food and movie theater our mall is terrible.

4 College Senior

Local Area: Nashville is growing! As of recently, new homes, strip malls and urban dining are the topics of conversation. There used to be areas of town that were less frequented because of the drop in places people could socialize. Now, some of the coolest, eclectic stores and dining are popping up!

In Nashville, there is always something to do for fun; the key is to know where to look and to choose the right company to be with. The campus itself is very friendly; however, the surrounding area can be somewhat unsafe at times. The surrounding area is lower-class intercity, as TSU is located on the outskirts of downtown Nashville. It is five minutes away from West End and Charlotte avenues, which will carry you to the hottest clubs, restaurants, and shopping areas. The citizens of Nashville are either very friendly or very unfriendly; there is no in between. One day, you may have several smiling faces, and the next, not one person will look your way. The weather is much of the reason for these extremes, since it affects everything from traffic to people’s moods. Nashville is a great place for music lovers. There are a number of jazz clubs, dance clubs, gentlemen’s and ladies’ clubs, and places for concerts. The Starwood Amphitheatre holds a concert nearly every week, and the biggest and most mainstream artists play here because it is a large venue with plenty of seating. However, it is literally all the way across town from TSU. Other places artists perform in are 328 Performance Hall and, for country music lovers, the Grand Ole Opry. There are a number of clubs and bars located in downtown Nashville, and if that’s not your thing, there are also a number of interesting shops for souvenirs and other items you won’t find in a Wal-Mart. Overall, the people in Nashville are great to socialize with, and despite the South’s reputation, we are certainly not all hicks.
