Administration: Students and faculty at Temple must show school ID when entering buildings.

Majors: So far I am happy with the program I choose to pursuit. My career goals are for me to get into a good job with a higher position .

Majors: I have not had the opportunity for an internship but I am looking for one. I would like one that pays well and that trains me in my area of expertise.

Health & Safety: I always see them walking our riding their bikes around campus.

Transportation: The Free shuttle is great, but public transportation fares are always rising. its just something you have to deal with. There are Zip cars available on campus but only a few. Most people use public transportation or drive to campus.

Athletics: Athletics are very important here on campus, even though the teams may not be that great lol. Intramural sports aren't that much of a big deal.

Overall Experience: Overall thus far has been stressful financially. But I love the location of the campus and the availability to downtown Philadelphia. I would choose my school all over again for the sake of the world class Kinesiology program.

Technology: There are multiple computer labs on campus that are fairly large. Free Microsoft software is a plus. And you get $21 dollars of free printing each semester. Tech support is great, and its free.

Drug Safety: Everyone drinks. If you dont party Thursday-Saturday your looked at as weird.

Majors: Im happy with my program but the teachers and advisory staff could be better. some teachers do not teach in a way that the difficult info is understandable, and the advisors seem to be uninterested and quite blunt.

Scholarships: Do not even try to call and get some useful information. You will probably end up staying on the phone for 2 hours on hold for someone to answer the phone who doesn't even take the time to correctly view and analyze your account. And if you go in the office to speak to a counselor they are very rude. They do not try to understand your issues and will send you on your way frustrated and ready to cry. They don't provide much grant or scholarship info either, I asked was told "We don't do that you have to do it yourself"

Health & Safety: There are a lot of security guards but they obviously cant cover every inch of the campus. Its no out of the ordinary to hear of someone getting robbed on campus. Its best to travel in groups and keep some pepper spray handy.

Greek Life: There's a process you have to go through online first. Then you go through the actual meeting process where you find out if you actually got into the organization of your choice. I guess it pretty much the same everywhere else.

Majors: I did not have one but I know alot of people that gets thenm all time.

Parking: Temple parking is horrible they have plenty parking lots but they are expensive. Off campus parking fills really fast..

5 College Senior

Transportation: Its good cause they provide free shuttle to the students.

Overall Experience: I would choose this school, mainly because they work with you. However the Business school puts you threw to much in order to graduate.

Off-Campus Housing: I don't really know, i haven't lived off campus yet. Just doing this for the points?

Overall Experience: Temple is a cool place

Health & Safety: Temple is right in the middle of North Philadelphia, which is a rough neighborhood. We get advisories all the time about robberies and shootings. If you carry yourself the right way and mind your business, you'll be fine..

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
