4 College Senior

Off-Campus Dining: There are a plethora of food trucks.

2 College Senior

Scholarships: I feel as if there should be more help for out of state students. I believe there are better aid packages for younger students, but seniors get no love!

5 College Senior

Diversity: Temple is one of the most diverse campuses around.

2 College Senior

Parking: There are too many students and faculty, and parking is hard to find and expensive.

3 College Senior

Health & Safety: The campus is in a terrible neighborhood, but has staff (police) to aid in combating the lack of safety.

4 College Senior

Technology: We have one of the best computer labs in the country for a college campus, however we also have a huge amount og students using the computers at all times.

3 College Senior

Transportation: We are in a city so subways and trains regularly run to and from the school.

4 College Senior

Academics: Tyler School of Art provides a great community for learning and networking.

3 College Senior

Academics: The university is so large that everything involving academics varies from class to class (professor to professor).

4 College Freshman

Drug Safety: Most people are pretty friendly.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Proximity to the city, and the fact that there are so many things to do sets it apart.

5 College Freshman

Campus Quality: Also, the tech center is great for getting work done on nice computers with large screens.

2 College Freshman

Parking: It's Philadelphia, the parking sucks. But I live on campus so I don't have to worry.

4 College Freshman

Campus Food: The new Morgan Hall dining hall, is fantastic. Great variety and great food.

Majors: I am extremely satisfied with my program. I would not make any different decisions if I had to do it again. I hope to be an actuary, and I have very little concern about employment after graduation, because I already hold an internship and part-time job in the field.

5 College Freshman

Majors: Seamless registration. There were no challenges, difficult criteria, or abnormalities. Just apply early and take the placement tests seriously, and you will be fine.

4 College Freshman

Scholarships: The process was very smooth, I just wish I had received more.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Everything has been fantastic. I have no complaints.

5 College Freshman

Technology: Other than the frequent wifi outages, Temple's technology is fantastic.

4 College Freshman

Weather: I have been living in the Philadelphia area my whole life, and I like the weather.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Safety in the area is poor, but I feel very safe on campus thanks to the Temple police and security presence.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Its difficult to be an act sic major, but will pay off in the long run. The opportunities and professional development offered is invaluable.

5 College Freshman

Academics: Everything about the academics at Temple has exceeded my expectations so far. I can't wait to take more interesting classes through the years.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: Being in the city is awesome. There is so much to do.

3 College Junior

Athletics: I have not notice anything much in terms of sports.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
