Transportation: The regional rail and Septa train stations are right on campus and they are so easy to take to the airport or to the city.

Transportation: We have the owl loop which can take you around campus or to your off campus housing. The loop is mainly most active during the night time, when students come from the tech and need to be taken to their off or on campus housing.

Technology: Temples tech labs have anything you need. There is a Tech center as well as a library. Computers are usually in every building on campus including the residence halls.

Party Scene: You can always find a party at Temple University! Since we are a "dry campus", parties are right across the street! We have everything from frat parties to house parties. If you'er an upperclassman, you can take the septa downtown to anywhere you want such as bars, restaurants or anything. There is always something to do in philly

Technology: Technoogy at temple is great for the most part. I feel like they are always doing their best to give the students a better experience when it comes to technology

Diversity: I dont think I know anyone who is not accepting of the various differences among people. The world is changing and if people dont change with it and learn to let others be entitled to their own opinions and behaviors, they will get left behind

Health & Safety: There are campus crime issues here and there but it is as a result of the locals around . I think its only a matter of time and then they will all be pushed out . Students who get robbed kind of ask for it.This is a city. Don't walk around with gadgets out if you are alone or the street is not busy. Also lock your doors like normal people do.

Local Area: Philadelphia is a great city to live in. It's perfect for every kind of person

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: The housing process is weird because they only house freshmen and sophomors for the most part. The restof us live in houses and apartments around campus. I guess its safer in the dorms because it is run by the school but its also really expesive. I havent been mugged yet or anything so for the most part i feel safe and I take the shuttle home when its dark or cold out so how much harm could I face doing that

Party Scene: Nightlife? There is aways something to do at Temple not even just weekend nights. If you want to have fun Monday - Sunday at Temple, its possible M- hit a bar on campus, T- 25cent wings, W- white girl wednesday, TR- Thirsty thursday/ 3wings for $1, F & S- night out in the city/ bar on campus/ house party on campus, S- Caribbean nights at certain clubs in the city. Thats the thing about Philadelphia. You can always have fun whenever but you need to realize you are there for school and pace yourself with the fun . Transportation is always available because it is a city and there are a lot of colleges. We also have door to door shuttles on campus that take you wherever you want to go on campus

Off-Campus Housing: Living off campus is great. No RAs, no intructions, no shared spaces with strangers, bigger bed, more space, cooking when you want, having as many guests as you want over, being alone when you want. Some landlords are awesome( like the one i had last year). They fix every little problem and the hallways are ceaned every day etc. Some of them are just the opposite but that just tels you your'e not living there the next year(if you have a lease that is). Safety is still an issue in terms of the many locals around but after talking to some alumini, i hear its way better now. There is a lot of real estate activity going on around campus now and the most of the landlords are renovating and renting to students now rather than locals so soon its going to be "owl town". Parking is always going to be an issue;its Philadelphia.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
