Campus Food: There's not much variety, so after a few weeks, one gets tired of the food.

Guys & Girls: Temple has a really laid back atmosphere, so really, you'll find every kind of person around. It's up to you to see who you'll get along best with because you're bound to find somebody.

Health & Safety: Temple is not the best place for safety and that is because of the surrounding area. There are always police and security on alert with is satisfying but it is best to always be aware of the environment around oneself.

Overall Experience: If one puts in the effort, then they will find great things at Temple University. Some will complain that Temple is boring but is it is there fault for not attempting to be part of the college experience. Many opportunities will not just arrive at your footstep. Instead, one needs to try and see the path that lies ahead. With this mindset placed, life in Temple is a memorable experience.

Parking: With Temple being a city college. It is predictable that parking will not be the easiest to find.

Technology: Temple has a great technology center where most students come to study. The support is great but there is the occasional lag of the speed and the reliability of the network at times. Not many of the classes require the use of computers but it is a great method to save notes and research.

Majors: Temple offers a wide range of majors with great programs within each. It will not be difficult for one to fit in and join with the others within the same major.

Campus Food: Campus dining can always be better. Besides the rich diverse foods there are, there is not one solid food place that stands out. All of the campus dining close at 8:00 P.M. which is a bummer for those who are late-snack eaters.

Local Area: Temple is a city school and with that there are the perks such as the nightlife and social atmosphere. But along with that, Temple is not located in the best part of the city. There are many crimes an violent acts occurring a lot in the surroundings at Temple.

Greek Life: Besides the parties, there is not much special about the Greek life. The sororities thrive more than the fraternities as they have many students who rush each semester.

Diversity: At Temple, one will see different people. They are not only from around the state, but also from the world as well. There are those who are newcomers to the United States and find Temple as an opportunity to study and live.

Administration: There is a great force of strictness in Temple. There are time when one cannot bring in drinks of any type into the dorms. They are also bag-checking and occasional room checks as well.

Party Scene: With the city come the night life. From Temple, one can see city hall and all the attractions and club the City of Brotherly Love has to offer. There is so much to do during the nightlife!

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
