3 College Freshman

Campus Housing: It depends who is living on the floor because some people can be very dirty. They each have their benefits but I personally did not get the experience I was expecting.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The school is not located in a safe area so there is a lot of off campus crime but Temple sends out an alert message if something happens.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: It is a diverse school but there are minority groups that over power others.

4 College Freshman

Local Area: There are activities in the city but sometimes it isn't as safe as you wish.

3 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: There are not many near the campus but if you go into center city, there you may have a larger variety.

4 College Freshman

Administration: There are people in the dorms who are very loud at night at times and the Resident assistant does not say anything to these people. There is a rule about not smoking outside the dorms but people do it anyways. Campus police on cold nights are trying to heat up in seven eleven or the dorms.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Temple has a large variety of majors that are not available everywhere. My career goals are to get experience in the architecture field, become certified, and work with an organization that uses architecture to give back to under developed communities.

4 College Freshman

Majors: Being an architecture major, I have learned how to build physical models as well as using online softwares. The department tries its best to let you know weekly through email about opportunities.

4 College Freshman

Transportation: Coming from New York City, transportation prices in Philadelphia are cheaper. The only bad thing is that the subway stations close after a certain hour at night.

4 College Freshman

Technology: There is a building filled with different computers but it does get filled around mid terms. Great service and they give an amount of free printing!

2 College Freshman

Majors: Political Science is not the best program at temple, sometimes i consider transferring. everyone is pre-law but me.

3 College Freshman

Majors: its super easy to get in..........................

4 College Junior

3 College Junior

Local Area: Its great, I just don't prefer the city.

4 College Junior

Administration: The strictness of the school is average. They are very big on no plagiarism!

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: I don't see any sort of drug use other than alcohol which, of course is a drug.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: There's two police stations on campus. Along with many securities riding around making sure the campus is safe. The communication with students is extremely wonderful they will notify students if a certain area is unsafe at the moment. Wonderful job they are doing to keep students safe.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
