Campus Housing: Campus housing from what i hear is okay

Party Scene: Nightlife is great! you will never be bored. There's always someone having a party on campus or something to do in the city with friends. To get the most out of the city nightlife you often have to be 21.

4 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: There are a great variety of off campus dinning in the city

4 College Sophomore

Majors: I am an accounting major. getting into my major was not very difficult i applied as a transfer student and i met the requirements for my major and was able to get in apron admissions.

Majors: Temple's fox school of businesses is great! One of the best, giving the area and being in the city their are always alot of internship opportunities, especially for accounting majors. The curriculum is very rigorous and prepares you for what you will doing after you graduate. Professors are also very helpful and tutoring is always available.

Off-Campus Housing: There are many options for off-campus housing in the area. Many new places are popping up, and each one is kept clean and is relatively affordable compared to other options.

Off-Campus Dining: Being in a city, there are many popular off campus dining areas. However, depending on what you are looking for, some you may have to set aside a good hour for, especially if you travel into center city.

Drug Safety: Drugs are not a very known issue at Temple. Alcohol is seen at parties and large social events, but otherwise the campus is pretty free of this stuff.

Scholarships: Temple provides a fairly easy to use financial aid system. Just make sure all requirements are met and you're fine. However, getting more assistance beyond that can be difficult at times.

Athletics: Football and Basketball are very big at Temple. Seats are usually packed with students at all home games. However, the success of these programs overshadows other, less known programs.

Weather: The weather is fine if you don't mind East Coast weather. The summers are pretty hot and humid. Winters can fluctuate, either very cold and lots of snow, or temperate and very little snow. Spring and Fall are nice times. Temperature is fine, and a nice mix of sunny and rainy days to keep you happy.

Campus Housing: I commute, so can only talk towards a few of the topics. One of the best things about Temple is the price. The classes and community make it feel like you are receiving a Private college education at a Public college rate. The campus is great if you like a lively downtown area.

4 College Student

Administration: The campus is a drug and alcohol free campus. However, it is college, so of course both will be around. Campus security works to prevent alcohol and drugs in dorms and the campus buildings, but is fairly lenient about the uses in off-campus housing and frat houses.

Transportation: Temple offers a shuttle between the Main campus and the Ambler and Health Sciences campuses. The shuttle runs regularly each day, but only has one stop at each campus. The public transportation in the region is a great tool for commuters and individuals traveling to and from the airport and other popular areas in the region.

Weather: East coast weather in general is pretty horrible. Its humid in the summer and in the winter its cloudy and cold and depressing but if your from the east coast your used to weather like this

Academics: The academics so far (from a freshman's perspective) are pretty good. The professors are there to help and are easily . accessible. Im a Information Technology major and the classes Im taking I actually feel like they are going to help me tremendously in the future.

Drug Safety: Most students wont do drugs straight out in the open but at a party drugs are definitely being used. The Resident Assistants depending on how strict they are will report students who use drugs. I personally haven't felt the pressure to use drugs but some students may have and Temple has help for those who feel they are feeling the pressure.

Scholarships: Temple will give you the amount of aid that they fell you deserve and also that they feel you need. Currently i owe money but there are scholarships available for me and if you feel like your unable to pay ask for the scholarship opportunities people at the financial aid office will be willling to help

2 College Freshman

Administration: The campus pd and residence hall security people are pretty lenient when it comes to students coming in drunk. However if a student was really messed up and needed help then they would report them so its lenient but to a certain point.

Party Scene: Temple university has the best nightlife for college students in the entire city. Students from west Chester to Rutgers come to Temple's campus just to party thats how good it is. And also their are options, for example if you were asian there are asian frats on campus to attend conversely if you were Caucasian but wanted to attend a black frat they throw parties as well.

Athletics: I wish Temple University had an intramural baseball team that would be great! As far as the other intramural teams go they are very accessible and many students participate in them.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Havent had an internship yet but i plan on having one in the future and im hoping that it will be very beneficial to my progress academically.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
