5 College Freshman

Campus Food: I will not be attending the meal plan so I will not have any dining experience.

4 College Junior

Local Area: Philadelphia is welcoming to college students. It promotes high education. There are a great number of activities available for students to participate in outside of campus life.

4 College Junior

Health & Safety: I see campus police patrolling on bicycles and the campus guards are plentiful and attentive.

4 College Junior

Scholarships: Whether I went to the campus or called on the phone, I was able to get someone who could answer my questions.

Off-Campus Dining: Although I have not frequented many of the eateries I have seen. I have my favorite. It serves Asian food. There is a spot that houses a variety of kiosks. There are food trucks as well. Find someplace to eat is very easy. I haven seen any student discounts. You don't really need them, as the costs are reasonable.

Campus Quality: Temple has an excellent reputation for a quality education that I believe it lives up to. The teachers are knowledgeable, interested and interesting.I am being challenged, and I enjoy it.

3 College Junior

Guys & Girls: The students I have come in contact with are interested and engaged in their work. they are much younger than I am. Their dress varies because some work and come live on campus. Social life and relationships I know nothing about.

3 College Junior

Diversity: I am a part-time student, not involved much in campus life. However in my classes i have interacted with students of all types of backgrounds. Getting to know them has broadened my horizons.

Greek Life: Greek life on campus is not different then any other social group on campus.

4 College Freshman

Campus Quality: There are a variety of different activities the students are able to do. Everything is unique and diverse, it's similar to a melting pot.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Food: The food was decent, but the fact that there was a certain amount of meal plans and that the meal plans could only be used for a certain time of day made it difficult to grab a good meal.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: The school gives lots of support for the football and basketball teams. The students lost support as the season turned out badly for both the basketball, and football team. The school started cuts for many sport organizations, but the club sports are still operating. Any activity needs more funding.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Cultural attractions are good after studies.

2 College Sophomore

Scholarships: Financial aid from my school is deceiving.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: I have full trust in the Fox School of Business.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Sure I do it again, and do it better now.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: Getting into classes is not difficult.

3 College Sophomore

Majors: It's difficult, but now I know business.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: We have professionals teaching the students.

4 College Sophomore

Academics: There are student organizations and that help.

4 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: People are open to new stuff and have good attitudes

Campus Food: There are always a lot of food trucks around but I never know what the food is made of. The food court by Anderson Hall is pretty well crowded on almost any day and the food is anywhere from great and cheap to expensive and not so good tasting.

4 College Senior

Health & Safety: I think the Temple Police and Security are what keeps me going to the school. Having been a security myself I kind of connect with these people. We get along fine as long as I behave. I do what I can to make their job a little easier concerning myself.

3 College Senior

Scholarships: There is financial aid if you want to find it, there are a few scholarships and for some people there are also the ROTC and other military type help. But for a few of these scholarships you have to find out through a lot of slogging through their website and then you still have to check and hopefully qualify.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
