5 College Junior

Athletics: Our Division 1 Football Team was ranked this season, after having one of the most amazing seasons yet and led by the wonderful coach, Matt Rhule.

Overall Experience: Temple University is a diverse and exciting campus located in Philadelphia. Our academic program is amazing, our athletic program is on the rise, and I am apart of Greek life which I find to be incredibly rewarding.

4 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Honestly, I feel safer on temples campus than I did at Bloomsburg. It was in the middle of nowhere and there were a lot of sexual assaults and robberies happening on campus. Some were in broad daylight by my dorm. Even though temple isn't in one of the best neighborhoods, I feel safe on campus. There are students everywhere and police everywhere. The officers are friendly and do their jobs well. It's always helpful to have people you know on campus or who work at the school to look out for you too.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are many of the same classes offered, especially gen eds. For my major, Asian studies, there aren't many time options to choose from depending on the class and some are only offered seasonally. My professors have been very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my classes and made friends in almost all except my math class.

Overall Experience: This school has gotten quite the reputation for producing well rounded, successful graduates and workers. Temple has a lot of good resources. Of course, it's always good to know a few people here and there to get tips.

Athletics: I have not seen all of the rec centers yet nor have I exercised there but from my short experience regarding questions about the facilities, the staff were extremely helpful and nice people to talk to.

Overall Experience: I absolutely love Temple. I transferred from another school in a rural area and I hated it there. Temple has students from soooo many different backgrounds, there are a lot of clubs and organizations that the other school didn't have and there is always something going on. The school is close to home and center city. I've met some really good friends so far and I've only been a student at temple for one semester. What makes this school unique are the study abroad programs, especially TUJ, temple university Japan campus. That is my dream program and I have heard nothing but great reviews and experiences from that program.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Cops everywhere, lots of resources and protocols for people in need.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Very passionate about their fields.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Great programs to help you get started.

Campus Housing: Double rooms are a bit small. Bugs. Known for leaking.

3 College Freshman

Athletics: It's crazy the amount of attention and rewards are given to people for being aggressive and throwing a ball.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Love the classes and all the staff at temple, but, being an undeclared student, I've received little guidance about how to decide on a major.

3 College Junior

Academics: I think the curriculum offered for my major is good however there could be a little bit more diversity in the types of courses offered for it

Health & Safety: I think the campus security does a great job in protecting students on campus. Most of the incidents that happen occur off campus in the middle of the night.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Many of the professors I have had have been great. They are knowledgeable about what they're teaching and are flexible when it comes to assignments

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Temple has a great standing in the media field and has produced a bunch of professionals including Kevin Nghandi on Sportscenter. This allows for internships to be more readily willing to look at and give call backs

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: Living on campus is great if you're a freshman or sophomore however it's a pain when you're an upper class man. You're subjected to all the rules and annoyances u dealt with as a freshman and you're treated the same

3 College Junior

Greek Life: There is a trade off when it comes to Greek and non-greeks. Greek life people seem to be in their own cliques with an undeserved sense of entitlement sometimes

3 College Junior

Athletics: The main sports such as basketball and football have just now started garnering a better fan support because of recent success. However the school thrives in the not as popular sports such as soccer, lacrosse and fencing. Fan support for games is normally predicated on how popular an opponent is

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: My overall experience has been amazing. I love the vibe around campus and everything is easily accessible. There's a good balance of on campus and off campus activities to do

5 College Sophomore

Athletics: Just recently football became a huge deal. Up a division and almost beat some of the top in the country.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I like temple for all the diversity that it holds and the different academic and social clubs going on that you can join. The only thing I realized while I was there is that I do not like being in a city

4 College Sophomore

Academics: Workload is tough but feels good accomplishing it

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
