Campus Housing: There is a large rage of campus housing from traditional communal style dorms, to brand new suite style rooms that include an indoor gym, tanning, game room, study lounges, and food options. Housing definitely has large ranges of price options and you get what you pay for. All of the campus housing offers a very close walk to classes and are a very safe living option.

Greek Life: Greek life at Temple isn't huge. It is a great way to meet a ton of new people and to get involved on campus. There are tons of events that go on and ways to give back to the community. Fraternities are the only greeks that have houses on campus, because there aren't any sorority houses. Non-Greeks don't strongly feel any particular way about Greeks and vice versa. There are quite a few different greek organizations both national and local that students have to opportunity to join and get involved in. However greek unity could use a little bit of work.

Athletics: This year has been an amazing year for Temple football, and the fan support and school spirit showed that. We sold out the stadium twice this season and had one of our players named best in the country. Temple basketball also had a great year making it into the championship. However, most Temple sports seem to be overshadowed by Football and Basketball, and many sports were cut a few years ago.

Overall Experience: Temple University, also known as The Diversity University, is about more than just the education you're receiving, but the experiences as well. The amount of school pride I have for Temple is a direct result of the amazing professors I have had in my course of study, the incredible accomplishments of our athletics recently, and the electric presence of the city of Philadelphia we are surrounded by everyday. The number of opportunites that are thrown our way is incredible, and having the city of Philadelphia right at my fingertips has been one of the most beneficial aspects in advancing my career. Temple continues to do great things every year and has been a school on the rise since I have been there. I am always proud to say that I am Temple Made, and will continue to show others why Temple Owls are unlike any other. The hard work and determination that Temple students have is undeniable and the work that is produced by my fellow peers is inspiring. I can't imagine being at any other school besides Temple University, and I am proud to be an Owl.

Health & Safety: Japan is one of the safes countries in the world. The school being in the heart of the school is no different.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: This is a degree that will benefit you even if you work in Japan or the U.S. The school is really good at helping people get jobs and internships with top companies in their fields.

Campus Housing: For the female dorms- Its in a mom and pop neighborhood but its fairly nice. Also theres security and a front desk which is great for packages. 11pm curfew is annoying. 1hour away from school but thats mainly due to the walk to the station from home and the walk from the station to school (25 minute total) most good apartments are far from school since school is in like the heart of tokyo.

You have your own room with a bathroom and kitchen. They also provide bedding, a desk and plenty of storage space.

Overall Experience: I go to Temple University's Japanese campus. I have friends who have decided to transfer because some pretty bad teachers, but I have had faily good ones in my two semesters here.

5 College Sophomore

Health & Safety: Health and safety is taken serously around campus. There is Temple Police, Philly Police, and "rent-a-cops" everywhere.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There are a ton for classes that you can take. The class sizes are small, which is suprising with the total number of students on campus.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Temple tries hard to have all student get jobs before they leave school. The career center makes that easy.

5 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I never lived on campus but from what I saw they were nice.

Greek Life: There are plenty of houses to join if you want but you dont have to.

Health & Safety: I have little to no experience in this topic, but simply have heard rumors. Therefore, I honestly cannot contribute any opinions or proper judgement.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I would say that there lacks a sense of consistency, professionalism, and often communication between the professor and the students. It becomes quite frustrating when professors give too much or too little outside-of-class work in comparison to the actual work and exams they give, especially when the papers are vaguely relevant to the major, topic, or title of the course. Many professors lack professionalism in the sense that they often give insights that are very stereotypical and basically already part of "common sense," and therefore make it seem at though class time has been wasted- even engaging students in more productive, critical, discussions would be more helpful in training students to think, act, and learn differently compared to the typical, sleep-encouraging lectures with notetaking. Communication is also a place where courses often fall because professors refuse to take students' insights seriously and continue bad habits attitudes towards their own work. The intention of things such as SFFs (Student Feedback Forms) is not to simply bash, but it is also to urge professors to continue growing and developing in their "professions," and to perhaps edit the way and things they teach in order to make the course more favorable and effective.

Overall Experience: Temple offers many opportunities for networking, internships, etc and has regularly schedules career fests, job fairs, and recruit/scouting events. However, in terms of actually developing students' profiles and resumes and preparing them for real work experiences, Temple could do a bit more, but they do quite a fair amount otherwise.

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus housing; however, after visiting a few friends in several different dorming facilities, I can say that Temple's housing situation can either be very average and typical for college housing to great and very appropriate and fit for living. However, I am not entirely sure how cost and choice works.

Greek Life: I have no personal experience with Greek life on campus, aside from being invited to events and encountering them in large groups in certain facilities. Although they do seem cliquey, it does not necessarily mean a bad thing, but in general I do not have much experience or stories to contribute.

Athletics: Temple University pushes the importance and pride of sports teams immensely; however, because of this, much funding goes towards athletic performance and facilities rather than learning facilities or appropriate staff and unfortunately this has led to further deficit in the school.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Academically speaking, it seems like temple is still "in the works" in many aspects because there are many courses, course schedules, and executions of lesson plans and intentions which still seem unpolished and very lacking in terms of actual relevant content and/or effectiveness of teaching.

3 College Freshman

Health & Safety: The campus's safety is okay.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: Police has stations on campus.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Classes differ in size and teaching styles.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
