Campus Housing: It's not the greatest, I wish it could honestly be better. It's way to pricey here and some buildings are over 9000$ a year.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: To pricey for what we pay for.

Athletics: I'm not an athlete myself but the campus has many facilitates that make it a great place for athletes.

Local Area: Although there is a lot going on in center city, there isn't as much to do closer to campus. Center city is great though and there is plenty to do there. Temple is safe on campus, but not so much off campus. There are a good amount of students who get robbed, and I think there should be more police off campus.

4 College Junior

Academics: The academics at temple are great, however I do wish there were more resources that nursing students could use as far as academics go.

Off-Campus Dining: There are tons of dining options in center city, although there aren't as many options near off campus housing. It is mostly pizza places and things of that nature. It would be nice to have healthier options a little closer to campus but as far as convenience goes there is a ton of places to get food from. There aren't many student discounts.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I think a degree from Temple University is highly valued and Temple is a great school to graduate from. There are career fairs all of the time and employers are always recruiting on campus. Networking at temple is really great.

Scholarships: Overall, I think the financial aid office should have more people available to speak to students regarding aid.

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is reasonably priced but extremely unsafe due to the high crime rate in the area.

Greek Life: Greeks have their own housing available to them and they usually hold events and parties there. Non-Greek students are usually indifferent towards Greeks but they appreciate the social events that the Greeks often host.

Administration: My University is very strict with drug and alcohol use on school grounds as well as undocumented visitors in dorm rooms.

Party Scene: Parties at my school can be lots of fun and serve as major stress relievers. For the most part I don't think they interfere with the student's study habits or effect their grades because they don't throw parties during the week or before major exams such as midterms or finals.

Off-Campus Dining: The off campus dining options costs are about average and the quality is pretty good. However there are not many options for late night eating and snacking. There are almost no student discounts available for us college kids but at least there is quite a variety to choose from, all of which are fairly convenient.

Health & Safety: Since I have been attending my school, I haven't notice any health and safety issues on campus.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
