Guys & Girls: Temple has a wide range of men available - the problem being that you have to look pretty hard to find a diamond in the rough. With so many students though, you're bound to find a cutie or two per class...but be warned! The B is because these cuties are not always top quality. Temple is a great school but not terribly difficult to get into. Some of the beauts here at Temple don't have brains!

Guys & Girls: You will find a variety of everything at Temple with people coming from various backgrounds. Girls at Temple love getting dressed up and look extremely beautiful. Sometimes, however its hard for people to talk to someone in person that they communicate with a lot on social networks. Guys at Temple are very handsome and are the life of the party(and social events). Girls and guys at Temple are definitely not afraid to get out of there dorms and have some fun regardless of the event. Relationships are popping up at extreme rates on campus, so that could be a bummer to some.

Academics: I am in the school of Media and Communication at Temple, majoring in Journalism. I am really pleased with the hands on experience students get in the field early on. Students are able to work with camera equipment by their sophomore year of college and really learn the basics and importance of each tool and technique. Professors are very helpful with what they teach in class and how you can best apply it outside of the classroom. The workload can get intense, but everyone really works together which helps ease the stress. There are s many opportunities for job and internships for students to take advantage of. Now, you probably won't be using the best and latest camera equipment, but you will be prepared to know what to do when certain problems arise. Overall, you will not be disappointed.

Academics: Temple has a good variety of courses that students can take at this university. These courses help students expand their horizons to learn about things they never thought about before. Many of the courses help students become critical thinkers and to not take certain situation for face value, but to delve and analyze the crust of the situation, the crust of your thinking, and who or what has influenced your thinking over the years. With courses in urban and women studies, religion, sociology, law, and physics, these help students gain a wider understanding of the world we live in.

Majors: It was more complicated because the Architecture department is the hardest to get into. You need a high high school GPA and high SAT scores. You also need to submit a portfolio.

Off-Campus Dining: a little mall is right beside it with many restaurants and there are many restaurants on the strip beside temple

Scholarships: I received barely any type of financial aid and that little that I had, must be paid back with interest. The whole reason I am on this site is because I received no help what so ever in any way to pay for school. I'll be walking out with thousands and thousands of debt and temple said, "sorry, we can't really help you, you're on your own". Thanks for the help temple

Campus Quality: The facilities thus far have been very iffy for me. I usually have 2 of 5 very talented, well educated professors. As for the other 3, I usually have to deal with great assistance to do well in their classes.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: I am not 21 so i dont know of much but there are many bars and nigtclubs to go to that are pretty to get to with public transportation.

2 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Housing: There are many apartments available to students however it takes a lot of research in order to find one., They are also pretty expensive.

3 College Sophomore

Administration: Parties happen all the time at temple and underage drinking is a common problem.. most of the time this stuff happens without anyone getting in trouble and they arent very strict.

3 College Sophomore

Weather: I sometimes feel as if it rains once a week or other week. Going to class when it is raining is horrible! You have to watch out on where you step because there are puddles everywhere. During the colder season snow is a huge pain also. Classes are rarely cancel even if there is a heavy snowfall. But when the weather is nice there are a lot of people who study and hang outside.

3 College Sophomore

Transportation: It is not hard to get to campus. Personally I find taking the Broad street subway line to be the fastest. But there are also shutter buses that take you to Ambler campus which makes things a lot easier. Most of the time I am at the main campus so commuting is not hard since I just take the Board Street Line. If I were to take classes in the Center City it would not be bad because its not that far away. The down side to the subway is that Cecil B Moore is not an express stop which can be a pain when subs are running late.

Local Area: Philadelphia is college town USA. With many neighboring colleges, there are college students all over

Drug Safety: Tons of drug use, nothing too hard though. It's difficult to have a drug free school when you're in the middle of Philadelphia.. most people stick to pot, but there's a big market for Molly, shrooms, and acid.

Campus Housing: I live in 1940 and it's a great! It's a suite style dorm so everyone has their own bathroom and the halls and communal areas (social lounges, study lounges, TV room, etc.) are always kept clean! There's even a courtyard outside that you can hang out in. It's in the middle of campus, right on Liacouras Walk, so the chances of being late to class are slim to none. Plus, Maxi's Pizza and 7-Eleven are right next door!

Local Area: Defiantly tones to do when living in Philly. South Street is a popular trip I tend to take. Even on campus there are tons of events you just need to get out there and find them.

Drug Safety: I mean it college so people are drinking and what not the most common thing is drugs but even then its very easy to find people aren't do it.

5 College Sophomore

Diversity: The diversity on campus is something that you cannot find at many schools. You will experience a cultural shock when on campus because there is someone from everywhere

3 College Sophomore

Guys & Girls: There a very diverse range of different types of girls and boys at the main campus. Any kind of person your looking for you can most definitely find while being at the university.

3 College Sophomore

Party Scene: The nightlife at temple university is okay i guess. There's not much club but the house parties are always good.

Technology: There are many computer labs on campus. They are very big with a lot of computers. Sometimes they get very crowded during finals and exams. The internet is usually fast in the dorms but sometimes there are minor problems. Most people have their own laptops but it is not necessary to have one. There are places in almost every building to print. I don't think it is necessary to have your own printer.

3 College Freshman

Majors: Getting accepted to the Journalism program was easy. I didn't need to do any extra application for it. Once in the school I registered for Journalism classes. There was nothing extra I had to do to declare the major.

4 College Senior

Transportation: Since the school is in Philadelphia there are many options for public transportation. You have trains busses and the subway to get around. I commute and have been for the past two years. I have a train pass which costs almost $700 but I can go anywhere with it and use it on the subways and busses which is nice. And its 700 a semester not a month. They have buses on campus that isnt public transportation but they drop students off close to their off campus apartments and run from 5pm to 6am

3 College Freshman

Weather: The weather is average. It rains often and Temple has a lot of flash flooding. So definitely invest in some rain boots.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

Overall, Temple has its ups and downs, but students seem to love it all the same. On the downside, there can be some head-butts with tyrannical teachers, unfriendly cafeteria workers, and the always-frustrating financial aid office. Housing can cause an enormous hassle, and those commuting have to battle with parking or public transportation. Some people don’t feel as though they are prepared for the real world once they leave campus, but others say it’s been an incredible learning experience. Those students that love their experience at Temple all have their own reasons. Some love the atmosphere and found it to be a lot of fun. Others found it to be a great place to grow up and discover themselves. Lots of students take away more from living in a big city than they do from the University. But one thing it seems most students agree on is that the people at Temple University are what really make it a worthwhile experience.

In general, students coming to Temple have big expectations, from both the school and the city. Those that graduate either feel that Temple met their expectations, or if it didn’t, then it was their own fault for not pursuing more opportunities while they were there. Most students feel that Temple provides them with the opportunities that make their college experiences excellent—as long as they are willing to make use of them.
