5 College Junior

Online Courses: Personally think it's a much better way to go.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: it felt like a computer teaching me not a teacher.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: Though it is my first year, the registration was not that hard as long as you have everything that is needed. Class sizes are okay, peer to peer interaction is okay as well.

4 College Student

Online Courses: Really enjoyed the online courses at TCC. Most teachers were friendly and accommodating, but didn't allow students to take advantage of the online situation, which is a good thing. A big part of these are usually getting assignments in on time.

4 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I go to a community college and the online courses allow people who would not otherwise attend college the opportunity to do so. The commonly recited benefits of an online course is that it allows the student to work at their own pace without the travel commitments that would usually impede those with a working schedule. Yet complaints arise as to of how online courses do not allow students to interact with each other, with the teacher, and does not allow a person to become enmeshed with the schools culture.

To which, I have to say, is unjustified. At a school such as mine, it is largely of what you make of it and for many people it is a "commuter school"- a term for a school in which people are simply there for an education and transfer to one of our states top state colleges at a fraction of the price. The dominant software we use is Canvas which is intuitive, easy on the eyes, with several features that makes it easy to learn from the teacher and students.

Replies are available from comments. Discussions are frequent. The workload can be quite intense and fast paced, but usually organised in a logical manner. It's easier to talk to a professor online, send a quick message detailing issues with the curriculum than trying to make office hours.

The majority of us are in basic courses- 101, 102, etc. Most of us want to make the process of going through these foundational courses to get to the heart of what we want to study quick and painless.
