Campus Food: On campus food can be really really good on occasion! The best options are probably Shaw and Ernie Davis dining halls, and I've heard Sadler is really good! There are many other options for food and coffee, such as Shine and Goldstein student centers, that have food places like Sbarro, Dunkin Donuts, and Burger King that you can use your dining dollars from your meal plan. Other popular places around campus are Bird Library cafe for coffee and other sandwiches and Slocum cafe for sandwiches. Marshall Street also has many options for people, like Insomnia Cookies (excellent) and Calios (also excellent), and plenty of other Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks in the area. Many of these places also deliver to the dorms for late-night dining!

Campus Food: Marshall street has a lot of different options and is open very late at night.

2 College Sophomore

Campus Food: needs to be more healthier fresh options. like cut fruit in cups for sale at freshens. more on the go food is necessary too like already made peanut butter sandwiches

4 College Sophomore

Campus Food: Dining halls are not bad. LOTS of delivery options. Marshall street has a lot of other options for an alternative to the dining hall every once in a while.

Campus Food: For the most part, it's excellent. The best part is the large amount of late-night food options on and around campus.

The food here at SU can be summed up in one word-awful. There are, however, pros and cons, like most things at SU, and there are ways to make the most out of your dining experience. There are two types of food at SU: dining hall food and Supercard dining facilities food. The dining halls are the places on campus where you may use your meal plan; it's also where you will need the skills of Emeril Lagasse to concoct something even remotely tasty. The selection is extensive, but you will quickly get sick of making your seventh meal of the week using grilled chicken, deli meat, salad bar, and pasta. No dining hall is significantly better than the others either; although the Daily Orange rated Sadler and Graham dining facilities as some of the better ones, and Shaw and Haven as some of the worst. Shaw Dining Hall is also the only place on campus where Kosher food is served.

The Supercard areas, on the other hand, more than make up for the gross grub in the dining halls. These places are designated for use with cash or your prepaid Supercard. With a selection of Sbarro, Taco Bell, Burger King, KFC, Dunkin Donuts, deli sandwiches, Chinese stir-fry, and sushi, the choices are endless. Try Kimmel Dining Hall, a popular place to grab some snacks at just about any time of the day or night.

Did You Know?
  • The Supercard gives students the option of more food choices. This is a prepaid card on which either the students themselves or their parents put a balance at the beginning of each semester.
  • SU also offers a full-service restaurant on campus, called Goldstein Faculty Center that is not just for the University's faculty. Students are welcome at any time during lunch hours, and they can use their Supercard dollars to pay.
  • SU has a Burger King rather than a McDonald's on campus. In order to find a McDonald's, students must leave campus by car or taxi.
