1 College Junior

Online Courses: The workload is ridiculous. It's difficult to relate to the professor and it seems like the ENTIRE class is only a peer-to-peer opinion stating session.

3 College Junior

Student Body: There is a lot of diversity at OCC. It makes college more enjoyable and a better learning experience dealing with many different types of people.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is affordable, living on campus makes it more expensive. I do not receive financial aid, so it's tough sometimes.

College Junior

Career Services: We are only a 2 year school.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: The workload isn't overbearing, but taking too many credits at once is tough; especially with online classes.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: My professors are great and very relatable. My advisor is the best and extremely helpful.

Campus Resources: Overall, OCC is a great school. The professors are great, the campus is easy to navigate and I'm not just another number.

College Sophomore

Online Courses: I dont take online courses

3 College Sophomore

Student Body: I dont know much about it

Tuition & Financial Aid: The financial aid office is'nt the best i had a issue with the financial aid office with my bill.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I dont know much about it

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: It takes a lot of dedication and hard work

4 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: Theres a variety of options

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: Its not the best in the world but its somewhat helpful

3 College Sophomore

Campus Resources: There are plenty of resources, however, the people in those positions are not always helpful because they only have so much information for people just wanting to get by and not necessarily go above and beyond.

Academic Flexibility: I have transfer to two other colleges before coming to the college I am at now. I feel like I did better here then any of the other colleges I been too so fare. my GPA is 3.50 i didn't get nothing below a "B" which is good. I love how interactive my professors was with the class. the school worked with everybody schedule. its just frustrating to have to take out a loan to pay for school since my school is a private school and cost a lot of money.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It takes a lot of running around, but eventually everything seems to get straightened out

3 College Junior

Campus Resources: The costs of buying anything on campus is so prohibitive. I feel that the admin is often "ripping off" the students.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: As a student that is always in class, on time, with whatever assignment that is due completed to the specifications (or above), I have discovered that the professors are MORE than willing to help with any problems that may arise, even if it is outside of their purview.

5 College Junior

Academic Experience: The professors in the Art Department love their work. They are all accomplished, WORKING artists that have a true passion for teaching their craft. Their excitement is contagious.

3 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: There should be a bit more transparency in the process. The hassles came about when I didn't have all of the information I needed up front as to the process of transferring financial aid into student accounts that could be used off campus to purchass supplies at the beginning of the fall semester.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: The professors are amazing and they will bend over backwards for the students that show they care about their studies, work hard, and attempt to complete the work on their own. Class size for Studios begins around 16:1 and becomes much smaller as the semester goes on due to the high rate of students not doing the MANDATORY work.

3 College Junior

Student Body: The students that excel stand out. There appears to be a lack of forethought and sense of responsibility from most Freshman matriculating from Highschool.

College Junior

Online Courses: I have not taken an online course as my major is visual ARTS which requires an in person, hands on experience. That said, I have not heard other students complaining of the quality of the courses they take online, only that the systems for deadlines can create havoc and stress if not properly prepared for.

3 College Junior

Career Services: I didn't know about the Career Services until stumbling on to them on accident. There were a few options but very little beyond what I could find for my self from home with an internet connection.

Onondaga is a really great community college. It provides students with the chance to work while going to school and make lifelong friends. Other SUNY schools lack the opportunities found on this campus. Students can gain leadership positions in clubs and organizations, utilize counselor help to figure out their life goals, and prepare for a life in the work force or further education at a four-year university. The faculty and staff are friendly and engaging, with the ultimate goal of helping students grow. Onondaga is unique as a community college because the people that make up its community truly take the effort to make things better each and every day.
