3 College Junior

Local Area: It is a small town so there isn't many off campus places to go unless your hiking of shopping in one of the mom and pop shops around. The closest malls aren't in town.

3 College Sophomore

Local Area: Enough restaurants to stay entertained but I live in NYC so nothing can really compare to it.

Local Area: The town is part of the reason I loved the school so much. I could see myself going to New Paltz simply because they had an amazing and cute little town.

Local Area: Such a beautiful town with plenty to see and do. Go and explore the mountains or take a bike ride on the rail trail. During my first week, my friends and I rented bikes for free and went on an extremely scenic bike ride. It was wonderful. there are plent of cute little shops in town. Make a trip to Noshi's and get a Carly shake! (:

Local Area: Depending on what you're interested in New Paltz can be a great place to live. For a small town there is a lot going on in the community. Lots of local business activity, great restaurants and quite a few bars and live music. It's a very young, artistic community. The partying can get really out of hand on weekends and holidays, which I don't personally find appealing.

One of the best parts of SUNY New Paltz is the town. The Village of New Paltz is located about two blocks away from campus. It's a pretty incredible place; there are cool music venues, tons of restaurants, and the people are progressive and laid-back.

The natural scenery is also great. The Wallkill River runs through the town, and one can hike along the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail. Plus, the beautiful Shawangunk Mountains are fully visible from both town and campus.
