Campus Housing: SUNY Geneseo's housing really doesn't have anything wrong with it. You get to choose wear you live and the dorms are always clean. There are different housing styles that accommodates practically everyone. The housing process is smooth; and those with the most credits get to choose first. The social atmosphere is pleasant as well.

Campus Housing: Some halls' dorms are small, especially if you're in a triple. However, they are manageable if you arrange your items well. The walk to classes can be tedious, but it's mostly because of weather and hills.

Campus Housing: If you live in a suite like Putnam Hall then it's fun and cool, it's a 4 person suite, two rooms connects through a bathroom. Monroe Hall is apparently the best dorm. Other suites that have more than 4 are still cool. They usually have 6 or 8 to a room with rooms for 2 inside. You have a living room kind of area.

Other dorms are the same 2 or 3 person rooms in the building. Depending where you live is how far from class you are. There are 2 sections of dorms. North side and South side. South side is the farther walk to class.

Campus Housing: The two dorm options at Geneseo are corridor style and suite style, with the latter personally being preferred. Ther is just more space in total, and it allows for socialization in a much more casual way. In the Quads, which have 4 but sometimes 3 suites, there are shared kitchens, living rooms and studies that are frequented by almost everyone in those suites. Most of the population of a quad get to know one another in just one semester, and it helps to promote my favorite thing about the suites style living: the atmosphere.

Not only are living conditions more laid-back and personal, these shared rooms in the quad are kept up by the most friendly janitorial staff I have ever met. I truly appreciate them for keeping the halls so clean, and try to give them as much respect as possible. This friendliness is reflected in the RAs that man the residence halls. Almost every RA I have interacted with has been helpful or at the very least friendly. They all mean well, and helped me adjust to living in the hall at a much faster rate than I expected to.

The cleanliness factor is unfortunately not consistent throughout every residence hall, and to varying degrees, the friendliness. While the general atmosphere stays about the same, the quality of life is not wholly uniform. However, because of the general intimacy of the student body, people seem to be able to get through their individual situations.

Campus Housing: Living in Monroe Hall I had it easy this past year. Monroe Hall is the most-to-date hall with some of the biggest dorms on campus. It was very clean all the time and the space in the rooms made it easy to keep everything organized.
