3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The on campus job opportunities are pretty good. They do provide many job/career fairs on campus so you will be able to find a job while on campus.

Overall Experience: Everything is pretty well organized as far as your courses goes. The professors love what they teach, so you will get what you need out of it. Class sizes are similar to what you had in high school so you are more comfortable.

Party Scene: I'm not a big partier, but when I do go, it is lots of fun. Most people are pretty much drinking and finishing off wasted. Underage drinking is big on the campus, but its something that I don't like. The campus does provide a transportation service called Driving Jacks, and they pick you up from anywhere from Friday-Sunday, and they take you back to your dorm safely. Its something that is definitely needed on this campus because there is a party going on somewhere.

Party Scene: Parties are happening every weekend. Some parties even start at noon and people are always there, The best parties depends on who is throwing them and what the theme is. The party scene is a positive experience if you just love to party. If you don't, like me, you will feel that there is nothing else to do.

Diversity: Everyone is pretty much seen as equal until you get around someone who is very radical about diversity like things (doesn't like certain races, bashes others, etc.)

Drug Safety: You will very rarely see drinking on the campus because they are very strict about it. However, most people on campus drink nearly every weekend. Since I choose not to drink, peer pressure for me is very high, and I've seen others get peer pressured, causing regrets later.

Academics: The professors are well prepared to teach classes on campus. They are always willing to help a student. Some courses can be hard and very workload heavy, so that's why we have our tutoring organization on campus, or the AARC. The study areas in all of the dorms and in the library are great for studying. The academics is a reason why someone would consider staying at SFA instead of transferring.

Health & Safety: I mainly feel safe when walking around campus when I am in a group. Since I work on campus, and usually I work late, I call one of my parents on the phone and talk to them while walking across campus to get back to my dorm. The campus crime log is very reliable, but it does show how much stuff goes on while being on campus. Most girls you see around campus have either a pocket knife or pepper spray just because the amount of stuff that you here go on around campus.

Overall Experience: The professors here are really passionate about what they teach. A lot of the professors I had were very understanding about the fact that their class isn't something that we are interested in, so let me teach what you need to know so you can pass the class and leave. As long as you put in the necessary effort then you should have no issues with the professors. There are many different varieties of courses to take and the class sizes for all of those are similar to what you get in high school.

Overall Experience: The value of the degree you get here depends on your major. If you are an education, agriculture, nursing, type of major then you will definitely get value from your degree here. If you are something like an engineering major, then I would consider somewhere else mainly because you can get much more value from somewhere else. All of that depends on your major.

Greek Life: One thing I can say about SFA is that if you come here with a goal to join a sorority/fraternity, then you made a good choice. I feel that pretty much all of the social experiences you have is involved with Greek life whether it is to go to a party, join the group, or to give back, most of the stuff you see done involves Greek life. You will also see a lot of diverse sororities/fraternities as well. Although they are not nearly as big as IFC or NPC, you still have lots of it. The only issue is that if you aren't involved in it, you are kind of an outcast on campus.

Athletics: The athletics experience on campus is pretty sub-par. People only get involved in athletics when it has anything to do with basketball. Since football isn't the greatest, people only go to tailgate with the frat guys and just drink. I am a really big sports fan and you don't feel that classic college sports fever while being on campus. School spirit is pretty low until you get to basketball (mainly around march madness time). Other teams are pretty good like volleyball, soccer, and track, but no one really goes to support them.

Overall Experience: The school seems to only fit certain types of people. After being here for a year, I feel like this school just was not my fit. Since the school is considered small, the community around it does not make it feel any bigger. Majority of the students here are either involved in Greek life, or don't do anything around campus at all. There seems to be no "in-between" students. I feel that I have met more students who are transferring schools rather than staying there. There is a lot of opportunities at the school, but if you don't find your fit, you just won't fit in. SFA was no where near my top choice school and I honestly wouldn't have thought it was going to be the school I went to. When I picked SFA, I was excited about it. Now, I'm just excited to get out. It may be some applicants fit, but majority may see otherwise.

Academics: The professors are nice for the most part. The curriculum is college level and helps teach people about the real world. The work load can be heavier the more classes you take.

4 Recent Alumnus

Athletics: The school runs around athletics, mostly football followed by basketball.

Health & Safety: There are cops on campus, but it is still best for girls to walk in groups at night.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Most of the professors have a great deal of passion for what they do, some more than others. There is a wide variety of courses offered in different styles. Class sizes vary depending on the subject, general studies class are bigger than when you get in and focus on your major and minor.

Overall Experience: The career center is nice, they are helpful and offer many opportunities to get help.

Health & Safety: Emergency poles are everywhere, police are around campus!!!!

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Helpful and always willing to give you help on homework

Overall Experience: student center helps alot here

Greek Life: As a Greek, I see different councils and I fell in love with Multi-Cultural and Divine 9. They are the closest to being a family, and I wouldn't change going Greek for anything. We are a small organization and we are all like a puzzle piece and come together as one big puzzle.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: Our basketball team is perfection!!!! our football team isn't the best but the games are very fun and you will enjoy tailgates.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The best experience is meeting so many people on campus, rushing for Sigma Lambda Gamma and finding my way to the correct major. I've had the best time meeting people to help me out in classes, my tutors have made a big impact on my grades and the people you meet on campus are amazing!!!

3 College Sophomore

Drug Safety: I am pretty much a home body so I do not go to the parties but my older brother does he also attends SFASU. The boys had alcohol about every weekend in the dorms. My brother is over 21. NO he never supplied or gave anyone drugs or alcohol.
