Administration: As far as drugs, alcohol, and visitors, SJU is fairly strict. But other than that, the school is moderately lenient.

Greek Life: I think Greek Life on campus is one of the most important things that keeps St. John's as interesting as it is. I love being a Greek here and I could not imagine not being apart of this community. That being said it is not as exclusive as people think and we are able to be friends with people outside of our organization and outside of Greek Life.

Diversity: It's a catholic school so most are in fact catholic and there are a lot of foreign students its cool to see around campus, honestly Asians are really large demographic.

3 College Freshman

Technology: Wifi sucks majority of the time, they have tried multiple times to fix it however but you won't be outside of a building expecting wifi because it won't happen and also it is very slow.

Greek Life: Greek Life seemed like a big deal in the beginning, they had parties all the time and were always on the strip strolling it was awesome but they died after the first two weeks of school. they don't really do anything on campus you only know they exist if one has on the paraphernalia.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

St. John’s has its ups and downs, but most students agree, sometimes reluctantly, that the bad outweighs the good. Some argue that with the high tuition cost, students should receive better student services and facilities. The school’s motto is, “We are St. John’s,” but does the administration listen when students speak? The school needs more dorm rooms, better computers, and more people ready to help students instead of giving them the runaround or transferring their calls to someone else. These things are not luxuries, but rather necessities to keep the students and the institution running smoothly.

Going to St. John’s is a good experience, and the name only seems to impress many people, which is a good trademark to use in the workforce. The overwhelming majority of teachers cares about its students. Check out St. John’s extensively before attending to see if it can meet your needs, especially monetary-wise. In 1870, when St. John’s was founded by the Vincentian community, it was supposed to be an answer for the poor students who couldn’t afford schooling; now many feel SJU is making the students poor. The costs are going up each year, but the financial aid is basically staying the same, making it hard for students to attend because of the lack of funding. Explore it for yourself. There’s plenty to enjoy and benefit from, but don’t get caught up in hype.
