Overall Experience: St.John's university is one of the best university I have ever known. So when I was enrolled in the SJU I except a lot from it. After the first semester, I felt it really like what i thought. Professors are kind and friendly, and they help me a lot as a freshman. And also my adviser totally understand how is difficult to be in the school as a new student. They will try their best to help suit in the SJU very soon.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: My school is everything I hoped it would be.

4 College Freshman

Health & Safety: There's been a lot of crimes this year, but the majority of crime are off campus I haven't really heard of crimes on campus. There are a lot of fire drills though.

3 College Senior

Athletics: The basketball team seems like the only team people care about. That is the only place you see team spirit. The Facilties for non athletes lack.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Professorservice here are very knowledgeable. Saint johns offers many unique courses and class sizes are a good size. My biggest class was 30 students and the smallest was 13 students.

5 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The career center is very helpful with finding jobs and internships. Many alumni's are willing to hire sju students right after they graduate.

5 College Freshman

Campus Housing: Living on campus is great remember to honestly answer the questionnaire and you should be fine. The social atmosphere you have to look for sometimes res life will have events, but you have to go and look for social events. The dorms are pretty good I heard the best dorm for freshmen is da silva. The worst option is that your other suit mates mayou be annoying like mine. The housing process is pretty stressful because everyone logs on at specific times and out of state students get first pick.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Greek life is huge here and they throw lots of parties off campus.

Overall ExperienceWhat's this?

View student contributors

St. John’s has its ups and downs, but most students agree, sometimes reluctantly, that the bad outweighs the good. Some argue that with the high tuition cost, students should receive better student services and facilities. The school’s motto is, “We are St. John’s,” but does the administration listen when students speak? The school needs more dorm rooms, better computers, and more people ready to help students instead of giving them the runaround or transferring their calls to someone else. These things are not luxuries, but rather necessities to keep the students and the institution running smoothly.

Going to St. John’s is a good experience, and the name only seems to impress many people, which is a good trademark to use in the workforce. The overwhelming majority of teachers cares about its students. Check out St. John’s extensively before attending to see if it can meet your needs, especially monetary-wise. In 1870, when St. John’s was founded by the Vincentian community, it was supposed to be an answer for the poor students who couldn’t afford schooling; now many feel SJU is making the students poor. The costs are going up each year, but the financial aid is basically staying the same, making it hard for students to attend because of the lack of funding. Explore it for yourself. There’s plenty to enjoy and benefit from, but don’t get caught up in hype.
