Overall Experience: Help is always readily available and going to this school makes me feel like my career goals are reachable.

2 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Wanted to know if my credits would transfer and couldn't tell me if they would transfer or not.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: Some classes it's good for, some it's not.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Small classes and professors are always there to help.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: Not a lot of degrees offered.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Don't have my major so I have to transfer.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Small class sizes and the professors are very helpful.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: I'm just going to get my associates in Allied Health right now but the classes smooth out nicely and when I'm done with that there are a few jobs out there that I can get without further degrees

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: The teachers there are amazing, usually at big colleges teachers don't have time to help out individuals but at SC4 they care about individual needs along with the needs of the class as a whole.

Academic Flexibility: In general I have had an average experience when it comes to academic flexibility at my college. My credits from community college ended up transferring to a four-year university, but only after several weeks of back-and-forth with various departments at SC4. It wasn't exactly the end of the world, but it definitely could've been handled in a more competent manner.

Online Courses: I have honestly had several very bad experiences taking online courses at my college. The instructors sometimes seem to be either uncomfortable with the technology involved or just careless in their presentation of materials and in communicating clearly their expectations of the students. There also seems to be a reoccurring problem of what I would call absentee instructors with online courses… They don't answer emails they don't post anything new week by week etc.

Career Services: The career services are not good at my college. Really the only jobs that they provide people with our temporary positions at local factories that pay hardly above minimum-wage. It is not necessarily the faults of the career services department, it's just that our area has a week economy and higher unemployment

Overall Experience: I have had several very good instructors at the school. Mr. Hunkler was definitely one of them. He definitely opened my mind up to look at the world through a different lens. The reason that I give a rating of just OK is because I have also had several subpar instructors over the years as well. Obviously not going to name names in that category, but I have had four or five classes where the instructor was pretty incompetent. So overall, I would rate the instructors at SC4 as 3/5.

Overall Experience: There is a high unemployment rate in our county, and I think all the career services and such available at our school are pretty much useless. I haven't really heard much about them, I don't think a lot of people even use it, but what I have heard about it has been 100% negative things

Academic Experience: My program at SC4 is simply an associate's degree in general studies. I will be transferring to Oakland University next year, so I am completing this degree at SC4 as somewhat of a formality. To attain this degree means you've completed the building blocks of general courses, and you're now ready to move on into something more challenging.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: SC4 is a small community college, nothing fancy, but they offer a good return on investment. For in-district students tuition costs are right around $100 per credit hour, meaning one can attain an Associate degree for around $5,000, all costs included. Compared to the costs of 4-year universities in Michigan, SC4 is a tremendous bargain.

Overall Experience: I love SC4! I basically live in the library.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: My school is unique because it offered me the opportunity to take college courses while in my junior year of high school for FREE. I started out with 2 courses for my first year as a junior in high school, 3 courses for my second year as a senior in high school and I am a full-time student at St. Clair Community College after I graduated from my high school. I will earn my associates degree a year before my graduating class. Did I mention it was all FREE? Professors are very helpful and truly care about your education. They always provide opportunities to meet with them one-on-one if you need extra help. The advisors are wonderful and help you along with anything you need. Overall experience has been great. I am truly blessed.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: Pretty varied course options at fairly low cost, many student clubs, help is readily available if needed. 10/10 would do again.

Academic Experience: The classes are too easy. Teachers don't expect much out of students, but the students they have to teach...I do feel bad for some as many of them are disrespectful and lazy.

Academic Experience: Again, another topic that includes both ends of the spectrum. Some of my professors have been more than willing to take the extra time to assist students, while others are just detached. I have a professor this semester that stated, "I've never had this problem, I just don't want to teach you guys." Not only is that annoying, since we are paying her to be our teacher, but it's also quite rude and frankly, the opposite of motivating.

Online Courses: I found the online classes to vary on their helpfulness. Two of my classes were just too easy, and I did not end up retaining any of the other information. One of my professors were really interactive, while others didn't make his or herself very available.

Academic Flexibility: Only two of my classes will not transfer to Michigan State University. I have not yet decided if this is where I'll be going, but I figure if State accepts them, most other Michigan colleges will, too.
