Off-Campus Dining

Off-Campus Dining: All the off campus dining near campus are fast food restaurants. Every last one of them. You have to go out a bit a way near downtown atlanta to get decent food and dine in restaurants.

Off-Campus Dining: the food s good but ts hard finding a late night sot close to school

Off-Campus Dining: Its mostly fast food, which I don't typically eat unless I'm treating myself (Once or twice every couple of weeks), so honestly I don't eat off-campus unless I go all the way Downtown or to Buckhead which is where you will find plenty of options (Atlanta has fantastic dining, just not in the West End).

Off-Campus Dining: The cost really depends on where you order from and what you get. There are a lot of different options for the same kinds of food. Delivery is pretty bad though. Most orders take at least an hour. There are plenty of places within walking distance of campus as well so that you don't have to get delivery.

Dining off campus seems to be the way to go for many Spelman women. With dining halls offering limited choices and hours, students generally choose to make the voyage to their favorite restaurants. There seem to be quite a few places to get a quick bite to eat near the campus, but for sit-down dining, students have to go farther away from campus. Soul food is a general favorite among the student body, and there is no shortage of places to find it in Atlanta. Students also seem to gravitate toward pizza joints. Almost every student mentioned Slice or Fellini's as the best place to pick up a snack at almost all hours of the day and night. For students who want a little more menu variety after midnight, City Café, Landmark Diner, and R. Thomas are all open 24 hours a day. Atlanta provides a wide variety of restaurants with entrees that are sure to please even the most discriminating taste buds. The biggest issue for students would be finding the transportation to get there. It would probably be helpful if there were more options closer to campus. However, students, led primarily by a craving for better tasting food, use public transportation and cars to get to a place that is more pleasing than what they would find on campus. From the most daring of diners to the most discriminating, Atlanta has room at the table for everyone.
