Campus Housing: New housing but I commuted

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Good food & friendly staff members

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: The school is very welcoming. I can ask them any question I have about the school

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: The professors are pretty friendly, but the overall organization is incredibly disorganized. We were lied to multiple times about things ant orientation, and there is not much accountability with the administration.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have liked most of my professors. They all made class engaging and learning fun. Some of the classes I thought I would hate going to, actually turned out to be great experiences. I actually liked one of my professors so much, that I decided to take another course by her. All of my classes have been pretty small, compared to what other colleges are used to. But that is good for me because the professors actually know you by name and actually help when you ask. Some of my classes have just been the professor lecturing and asking a few questions, but the classes I have enjoyed the most are the ones that are completely discussion. At first, I did not like that I had to participate to make a good grade, but by the end of my first class like that, it was easy for me to be apart of the discussion.

Health & Safety: We have campus safety workers and security, but they don't do much. I don't think they would be able to do much if they were anything serious happening either. They mainly just seem like lazy people, not ready for something to happen.

3 College Sophomore

Campus Housing: I personally live at home, but a lot of my friends live on campus. From what I have heard, it is a nightmare just because of their roommates. I would say the rooms themselves are not a problem, it is living with a bunch of people you don't know beforehand.

4 College Sophomore

Athletics: I play volleyball for my University, so I know first-hand about the athletics. Our weight room is one of the best I have seen. We also have the absolutely greatest weightlifting and conditioning coach. She has transformed the teams tremendously. Our gym is a little outdated though and we don't have the best equipment for our nets. The school spirit is high for all sports team around the first and the second games, but after that attendance is usually very low from students.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I have absolutely loved Spalding University! The class schedules are so easy to work with. I have classes Monday-Thursday and only take one or two classes for six weeks. This allows me to fully focus on the classes I have and fully engage myself in the work.

4 College Freshman

Athletics: I know a few of the girls on the volleyball team and they love it.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: Spalding's academic advisors are extremely helpful and hey strive to put you in classes that will go toward your major.

3 College Freshman

Party Scene: Campus has movies paying some nights and different activities.

4 College Freshman

Academics: Class challenges you to learn more and think critically about information.

4 College Freshman

Diversity: Everyone is open to diversity.

5 College Junior

Drug Safety: As far as I am aware there is no problem, though I am only there to take my classes and to go home, I live off campus.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: Health is okay at school, a bug will go around every so often but it usually goes away within a few weeks. The janitorial staff are always cleaning all around campus.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: At spalding there are three types of teachers, the ones that teach without really being good at it, confusing the people they teach, those that are good at teaching, making the lessons easy to follow and then there are the teachers that are way to into their job and give out way too many assignments that leave you swimming in papers.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I love that classes are very small.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience: They are very helpful in recommending options for you.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: There were too many different papers required. I was very confused.

3 College Freshman

Greek Life: Never participated so I don't really have a good review.

3 College Junior

Diversity: I'm an MFA student and don't see many undergrads when I'm on campus, but as far as I can tell diversity is mediocre at best.

4 College Junior

Academics: The MFA in creative writing program is wonderful.

3 College Junior

Health & Safety: I'm not all that familiar with campus safety issues year round, but when I'm on campus for the ten day residency for the creative writing MFA program, it seems that campus security is easily accessible, even if they're not out visibly on campus. That said, because it's a downtown campus, I imagine it's pretty important for students to move around in groups and keep an eye on their surroundings.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: I'm a grad student in the low-residency creative writing program and absolutely love it. That said, I'm only on campus for ten days twice a year and know nothing about the undergrad experience at Spalding.
