Overall Experience: Class sizes are small for a good reason, studio artist need more space than just a desk so it is nice to be able to spread out in the art therapy studio courses. Discussion courses are small as well, typically chairs are put into a circle and discussions are conducted this way, as a group therapy session would be arranged. Professors are knowledgeable, passionate, and always eager to help students form a better understanding.

Overall Experience: Southwestern is awesome because it allows you to complete your counseling practicum and internship through the counseling services center sponsored by the college itself. Prospects of getting a job upon completing a Master's and testing for licensing are very high, most students are working in a private counseling agency or community services counseling agency after obtaining their degree.

Health & Safety: Because campus is not very large at all, I have never felt unsafe or uncomfortable there. Campus is well lit and has max 200 people on site at one time.

Overall Experience: When I was looking into graduate programs for Art Therapy Counseling I was immediately drawn to Southwestern College because of the seemingly warm and inviting atmosphere. Throughout the admissions process I was made to feel like I would be a great addition to their student body and I began to feel like I could excel there. The administrative staff has been incredibly helpful and encouraging as well. I think this school is unique for several different reasons, but I especially appreciate that it is only a graduate program providing institution. Because there is no undergraduate university attached, I believe that the staff is focused solely on Counseling and Art Therapy Counseling, the two graduate programs provided at Southwestern College.

Overall Experience: Everyone I have met thus far has been incredibly positive and open to assisting new students make a positive transition into their first year of education.

Diversity: While there is some diversity amongst students, there is much less reflected in the scope of instructors.

Academics: Instructors are generally informative, compassionate and take the group of students into consideration. The school is soley a graduate program for Art Therapy and Counseling so courses are limited to that area.

Off-Campus Dining: Wide variety of places near campus, but prices are higher as with everything else in Santa Fe

Administration: The administration is open and friendly. School administers double as professors, therefore students interact with them on a regular basis.

Local Area: Santa Fe is a charming and historic little city in New Mexico with lots of restaurants, art galleries, museums, and culture. It is a unique and beautiful place to be.

4 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The school is very well connected to organizations in the area and the job market in the country. There are a lot of resources to help students find jobs after college.

5 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am very happy with my decision to attend Southwestern College. I have only attended one quarter, but I am eager to begin the next and continue my experience.

Scholarships: It takes some time to connect with the financial aid office, because it is a on-person show, but I was able to get the information I needed.

Scholarships: Specific information about financial aid is not readily available and accessible for students. The process gets done eventually, but unless you already know what you are doing, it can be a struggle. Also, if you have loans that will need to be deferred, check with your loan providers for what you need to do. I was given the impression that, by both online with my provider and with the financial aid dept., that the school communicates with my loan provider when I am enrolled for classes. However, because I did not take out loans my first year, nothing was communicated to my provider. Just be well informed on your own to know what to do with financial aid.

Guys & Girls: The school is approximately 90% female. I suppose for the guys it might be nice.

Majors: This is solely a graduate program for art therapy and counseling. I love that I can earn a dual degree is a relatively short amount of time. The also offer a number of certificate programs that have recently been revamped to be less time consuming, cheaper, and more easily accessible.

Overall Experience: Overall, many of the classes and instructors are great. I have learned a lot about myself along with some practical counseling/art skill (though there could be more clinical skills taught, perhaps they come later in the program) There is a good amount of work that needs to be done on the administration side (I.e. Better providing students with access to necessary information). Also, more cultural competency needs, in my opinion, to be taught across all classes. Overall, you get out what you put into in. If you plan on working in a clinical setting, you may want to take some outside classes to feel confident with those skills, but if you are more spiritually inclined, you will find a lot of like thinkers.

Local Area: There is a great mix of things, particularly for the art invlined, however, it can be a very small town.

Off-Campus Housing: There are a variety of apartments, essentiality you get what you pay for. There are some low income housing available but of you and your roommates are all full time students you won't be able to get those. A good choose may be to look for a house with roommates for more space.

3 College Junior

Diversity: Diversity within female students is great, really interesting range, but there are almost no guys in the school.

4 College Junior

Majors: This is a very easy program to apply to! One of the easiest that I have ever encountered, just go to the online application, read the first sheet and you are good!

5 College Sophomore

Off-Campus Dining: All dinning is off campus unless I bring my lunch.
