3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: The quality of employers recruiting on campus is okay, the students are involved in different activities in order to help other students. The career center offers a great amount of counselors that can help you chose your classes.

Student Body: This school has a variety of ethnicities, but I would say there are a lot more hispanic people that attend this school. I believe this is because the school is close to the border and from people that i met in my classes they said most of them come from Tijuana to get educated here, so it is easy for them to attend to that school since its closer.

Tuition & Financial Aid: The tuition fees are fair. Except when I decided to take Biology class. The professor wasn't helpful. The lab activities were supposed to help you understand the material better, however it did not. The lab was always in danger or we simply couldn't use it because of their management.

Career Services: I have only meet with counselors to discuss about transferring schools and get involved into their nursing program, the counselors are helpful. The career center has great counselors, I am new to this school since i transferred my credits from other community college, this is my first semester in this school, I am liking it and I'm barely getting to know people that can help me succeed here.

Academic Experience: Their nursing program there is good. They offer a registered nurse program but it is only to get your associates degree, meaning you will still have to transfer to a 4 year university in order to get your bachelors degree.

There are counselors to help you choose your classes in order to get in the nursing programs.

Academic Experience: The professors in my school some are willing to help you and some are really busy, they make you feel you're just a number in that school. I had the honor to meet with nutrition professor one on one to discuss my grade and also gave me advice to raise my grade and get involved in activities that were related to nutrition class.

Campus Resources: My school is very active when it comes to events to help hispanic students. Their main purpose is to help students get informed about laws and activities that they can do while attending that school. Therefore the school is pretty big. The library is helpful, you can find any books or material that you need. Also the writing center is very helpful. One of their main focus in this school is their athletic center. There are many students involved in sports and nutrition classes. However, you can barely see a instructor or a coach because of their busy schedule, except for one of my nutrition professor who was willing to always help you with the class in one on one and gave you the opportunity to see him in his office when he was there.

Academic Flexibility: You deal with what you can get.

Overall Experience: I'm a broke college student.

3 College Senior

Overall Experience: it is what it is.

3 College Senior

Online Courses: I really never find myself grasping the material in online classes.

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Financial Aid is something everyone wants, so expect it to be a stressful experience. Do everything as early as possible to avoid a hair pulling stessful time.

3 College Senior

Career Services: Not really much help here. Kind of lacking.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: It's really 50/50 when it come to the faculty. You can either really hit or miss with the academic experience.

3 College Senior

Academic Experience: Some classes aren't challenging and I feel we coddle some students and when they go to a 4 year university, they'll be in for a rude awakening.

4 College Senior

Campus Resources: Its a Community College so you can expect there to be resources but not the best.

1 College Senior

Student Body: What student body?? I do know know of a student body here at SWC

3 College Senior

Tuition & Financial Aid: Tuition is cheap so that is a plus! I learned a lot here at SWC

4 College Senior

Academic Flexibility: Academic flexibility is great. There are different classes that fit perfect into your schedule if you work.

Overall Experience: My experience at southwestern was pretty good. I was able to get into all of my required classes for my GED and major.Plus I was able to finish all my courses in two years and ready to transfer. There is little to no diversity at southwestern college, so that is kinda boring. People still act like their in high school which is really annoying. I know people who are taking whatever and random classes

Online Courses: Most of my online classes were pretty easy. I've had good ones with excellent work load and discussion boards. However, I recently took an online class and the professor was not interactive at all. He just threw the quizzes and tests. But it was easy though. I am taking an online class now, and my professor gives a lot of work. So it can be time-consuming.

2 College Senior

Student Body: I do not know the student body at my school. There really is no diversity. It is mostly Hispanics.

3 College Senior

Career Services: The career services are great! Just go over there if you are unsure with your major and do not know what to do. THey are willing to help you.

Academic Experience: I am doing the psychology for transfer degree (AA-T). I took all my prerequisites and all the required courses for my major. I definitely learned so much about psychology and got more intrigued by it. My counselor helped me with what classes to take for my major and for the general education courses. The workload seems fair. I had my fair share of easy A classes and classes that I have to work hard on. But I say it's worth it.

4 College Senior

Academic Experience: The academics seems like high school. But like I said, it all depends on your professor. Some will be easy or some will be difficult. Just ask for help when it is needed. The class registration process is okay. There are certain students who get priority registration which is a good thing. The workload is good. You can take some courses at SWC that is equivalent to ones at state and it is cheaper! (:
