4 College Junior

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: class sizes are small enough to allow one on one interaction with the instructor. the instructors are all knowledgeable in their fields and have professional experience.

Academic Flexibility at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: You can either choose to come really early in the morning, or be here until the sun has already been down for a couple hoirs

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: The teachers are looking for specific stuff in assignments, they tell us that, but not what they're looking for exactly.

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: Not much going on in internships here, and I have not seen a job recruiter yet

3 College Freshman

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: The class sizes are small, and the faculty is good, but the classes are very easily lost, and the amount of money to go here is ridicilous

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: I would give the school zero stars if possible. The quality of education is horrible, all the school wants is money. They work extra hard to get new students in, do not take care of their current students, and completely neglect their former students. On multiple occasions the school has lost checks that I've given to them, has never build me consistently. I guess it's kind of hard for them though since their turnover rate in their office is so high. This is probably because the people that run the school are actually running a scam. They have teachers that are underqualified, because they cannot find enough teachers to replace the motor teachers are quitting. Do not get yourself mixed up in this black hole of the school.

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: i love my school and the friends ive made there, its just so hard because its expensive.

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: SUVA is small and intimate. The maximum students in a class is around 25 students, the teacher has time to give each student full attention. SUVA doesn't hold any student back; if you want to create something, they encourage and help you achieve your goals. My classmates are fantastic! Supportive, honest, and open. Critique is professional and we support one another with our ideas. Two classes per day allow students to have a job and a life outside SUVA. Homework isn't over done either; its a steady pace. Its easy to focus on the task at hand; there is plenty of time to balance each work. The staff is small as well, so needing an answer to a question can be answered relative quickly with an email or an appointment. SUVA is a wonderful place for passionate artistic people.

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: Don't waste your time, money, or sanity. They are predators, and frequently will manipulate the truth to get what they want which is only your money. They will all act like they'd do anything for you at the time, yet was told directly multiple times they had nothing to offer for anyone with a (learning) disability, that if I wanted my teachers to know, I had to inform them myself. But they couldn't give me special treatment to any students, I assumed this was because they’re private. Come to find out they didn't tell this to other students. They are difficult to work with and never take accountability for anything.

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: This school is very expensive, though the quality of education is fairly promising and I am satisfied with the atmosphere and engaging staff.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: Wonderful school, small classes and VERY quality.

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: I love my school. My overall experience has been a very positive one. It is extremely small, which I thought at first was going to be a downside. But, I like the fact that I know my instructors on a very personal level, and the small class size give me a chance to be a part of the discussions. All of my professors are very committed to teaching and are accessible for one on one communication. I would absolutely choose this school again.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: Tuition is ridiculously high and they are so bad about keeping track on financial aid I've been held back a year because of it.

Academic Flexibility at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: The teachers and professors are great but the admin sticks it to you in the butt. I'm maxed out on loans and still have to pay thousands out of pocket to graduate.

Career Services at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: Once you are done with your education the school will start helping you finding jobs that fit with your degree. I've heard a lot of stories about students landing jobs. Which gets me pumped to finish school and start working at a job i will love.

Tuition & Financial Aid at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: The Financial aid progress is pretty straight forward you submit some paperwork and hope for the best if you qualified. As for the tuition, its pretty high. Which is reasonable since it is a private university and the the teachers their care a lot about our progress.

Academic Flexibility at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Tucson: It shows that with almost a year on my belt with this school my drawing skills have improved a lot. My community college didn't have the small class environment which made it hard to get one on one time to learn the material better. At SUVA the class size is small enough that the teacher is able to help all of us. My understanding of art has improved dramatically through out this first year. Of course there's a downside, which is the cost of attending. Recently i have been thinking about drooping out since the amount of loans i need to get his pretty high, but no other school in Tucson has a good animation course. So in the end i decide to go full force and apply to every scholarship as humanly possible since for the first time i feel that i can accomplish my goal at this school.

Overall Experience at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: Teachers are great as well as the students. The time it took to graduate is extremely frustrating, and many of the things taught to us were things we could have easily learned on our own.

3 College Senior

Career Services at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: From what I have heard the school does not offer much in the ways of networking for careers.

3 College Senior

Campus Quality at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: Small college, so everyone knows everyone. Feels like a community.

2 College Senior

Academic Flexibility at Southwest University of Visual Arts - Albuquerque: Very difficult to schedule classes that are needed, many classes are offered once a year, not every term. Takes longer to graduate here than other universities.
