Greek Life: Greek life is prominent on campus. Each organization is great in their own way. Many students look at greeks as superior and clique-ish but that isn't always the case. There are many that are down to earth and live their lives as regular students.

Athletics: I'm not a sports fan so I wouldn't know.

Off-Campus Housing: The most convenient off campus housing is the Palisades. They"re located right by campus so its a short distance to class.

Off-Campus Dining: Off campus dining is pretty average.

3 College Freshman

Administration: They make a big fuss about things like visitation, but at the end of the day people still find a way to sneak in.

Party Scene: There aren't many parties, just mostly kickbacks in the dorms, on campus apartments, and in the Palisades. Everyone mostly just goes to the club, especially on Thursday nights. Every now and then an organization will throw a sort of party.

Scholarships: The financial aid office didn't notify me that I was selected for verification nor did they provide me with the appropriate verification documents until orientation which was only a month before school started. They never answer the phone, I did better through email.I almost didn't get to attend school because of this but ultimately I got everything straigthened out.

Campus Food: There's only one dining hall at the moment which makes things inconvenient at times. However you can get food at the restaurants in the union but they close earlier than Mayberry and lines are extremely long at the beginning of the semester.

Campus Housing: The dorms are small. There's only one cafeteria at the moment to eat from. There isn't much to do in the back, most of the activities on campus are held in the union or mini dome which is quite a walk from the on campus housing.

Campus Housing: Campus life was so bad for me, I moved after one semester. I was always sick and my roommate caught staff.

Party Scene: What party scene? Wherever these parties are, unless you have friends, they are not worth going to. To much smoking, to much drinking, and inappropriate dancing. If you have friends its best to just throw your own personal parties so you can have your own fun.

Campus Food: The dining options at first glance are very fun, and you can tell that they work really hard to bring variety. The staff is very nice and you can always expect a certain kind of food when you go to the dining halls. The only down side to everything is that after a while, 1-2 months, you get tired of eating there. And even though you know that the menu changes everyday, eating in the same place becomes tiresome. But unless you have a car, its all you have to eat or just go hungry/eat all the food you have in your little refrigerator back in the dorm room. After a semester, you tend to learn to create options for yourself.

Campus Housing: Campus housing, is a 20 minute or more walk away from all the buildings where most of the classes are at, which isn't a problem. The real problems arise when simple rules are not followed or enforced which make some tasks awkward. The school claims that it is tobacco free, but it is the complete opposite. Smoking is such a problem with no consequences that, you can smell the smoke in hallways and suite areas of the housing buildings. From an academic stand point Southern does very well, but after classes end. everything falls apart. It is recommended if possible to commute from somewhere else or get an apartment. The dorms are not worth what you have to pay. Besides the dorm problems, the campus can be a very boring place and there is nothing to do, but if you can get past everything else, getting your education should be really easy.

Off-Campus Housing: The off campus housing is very close to Southern.

Administration: The school is only strict on stupid stuff like visitations, but they let anybody come on campus. Southern is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Campus Food: It just depends on who is cooking the food.

2 College Freshman

Campus Housing: The dorms are really small and aren't worth the price of $1,750. The staff is very rude and they never know anything when you ask them for help. The teachers are actually pretty good, they are pretty helpful with everything you need. The cafe sucks they serve the same foods every day basically and your meal plan is $1,350 no matter what. Southern is so unorganized its pitiful.

Local Area: I feel that there are better places to live. Baton Rouge is a very small and "slow" city compare to others and living here my entire life i want to experience new people, places, and things.

Off-Campus Dining: I wish we had more of a variety. Im actually getting tired of eatting the same things everyday. It is somewhat of an struggle to decide what I will eat everyday.
