Campus life is very enjoyable. The housing process is very satisfying and easy. The dorms are comfortable and convenient and also clean. There is no curfew for residents on campus, but opposite sex visitors do have a curfew. Sometimes it can be hot and uncomfortable in the dorms because of the weather but overall it is comfortable. The assistants are readily available and easy to contact. The social environment is excellent and satisfying, which can sometimes become a distraction to the students! The campus apartments are spacious and offer a lifetime experience! I really enjoyed my time living on campus but it can be an expense when you calculate tuition, housing and a required meal plan. On campus living offers great memories and helps build life time friendships.

Always get things done ahead of time. If you're considering Southern, never wait for the last minute and don't be content with, "You're good to go." Be very poignant about what you need and following up and making sure that you have them. Keep your ducks in a row because they are notorious for telling you you're ok when you actually aren't. The biggest issues are usually with financial aid but many times the student has not accepted their financial reward, or completed their fafsa, get it done early don't wait. I'm telling you now, it will save you a lot of time waiting, running back and forth, and definitely headache. Huh! Make some calls and get legitimate directions, and when you find a helpful person make note of it, of course it always helps to smile, be polite, and patient-don't hurt yourself in the long run by being ignorant and rude. Bite your tongue.

Baton Rouge is a growing city with plenty potential. Located along the mighty Mississippi River, it has some of the nations best seafood, and the local cuisine is top notch and second to none. It is home to LSU (a highly reputable school with a fooball team to love or love to hate), and the largest HBCU (Historically Black College & University) in the nation (with a band to brag on #HumanJukeBox in the house). Baton Rouge is also home to many churches, one of them (mine) is Bethany World Prayer Center, it shows the hand of God by giving to the poor, reaching out to the community, healing the sick, and encouraging the lost to know Jesus. It has a track record of service, integrity, humility and Holiness; and has planted other churches around the world that do the same things, spreading hope to the hopeless, and bringing the dead to life. I thank God for Baton Rouge. My City!
