I'm enrolled in the Health Information Management (HIM), two year Associates degree program at SWFC. I am currently into my second year. I have had a very positive college experience at SWFC, meeting great students and learning from helpful and focused instructors.

The Port Charlotte campus is small and allows for a nice size of class to teacher ratio. All classes taken so far have been relevant to my major, and thoroughly interesting and enjoyable.

The program manager for the HIM department is also an excellent instructor. Teachers are always willing to help out students. The workload is pretty substantial, so be prepared to work hard. I feel confident that I will pass the RHIT and CCA exams!

Overall, SWFC is a great college that I highly recommend!

The Most Painless Application Process I Have Ever Endured! At SWFC, the financial aid office made my application process for financial aid easy and fast. The staff knows what they are doing and they know what they are talking about. They make sure you can get the most money out there that you are eligible for and that you understand what you and signing and why. Also there are more than two staff members in this department so if you have questions or need help they are easily accessible. As for my education on the other hand, that's a different story. I take my education very seriously because it means a lot to me. My education and my Degree's are not just fpr me but they are for my daughter as well, and being a single mom I want to be the best role model I can be. So keeping good grades and setting a career for the two of the utmost importance.

The reason why I chose Florida southwestern state community college is because I heard from one of my family members that they offer really good programs and that they are a good college in the state of Florida. From my point of perspective from looking at their courses and types of degrees that they offer, I was very pleased to see all the different verities that the college has to offer to us new students and members. If I was to get accepted into the college i would be very happy and pleased because they offer a really good radiology technician program. I want to become a radiologist technician and I would love to pursue my education here at Florida Southwestern Community College. I like how the radiology program offers on hands training and their program is willing to allow students to graduated and go straight to work at a hospital and start on their career.
