As far as the facilities go, they're great. Actually, if you live over in Cougar Village, it's pretty awesome having a shared apartment if you get the right roommates. As far as social atmosphere, I've had better. I think the atmosphere really depends on who you are. I've met some really awful people (i.e. racists, sexists, etc.) and some really great people, too! You can't really know who you're rooming with, and the housing department's service when it comes to dealing with issues is terrible and somewhat unprofessional, at least from my experience so far.

Just be careful. Enjoy the facilities, and pray that you don't have to deal with the housing staff.

The athletics at SIUE are incredible! The school encourages a lot of student involvement for athletic events. For example, before events multiple different social groups host tailgates. Through tailgates students are able to interact with one another and have fun cheering on our schools team. One of my favorite parts of the "athletic scene" is the fitness center. The fitness center is amazing. There are so many classes, club sports, and just many chances to get in shape.

My experience thus far at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has been incredible. The instructors are caring and always available to help. At most colleges you hear "the professors do not care if you pass, fail, or even show up"; however, that is not the case at SIUE. One of my favorite experiences so far has been meeting new people. By living in the dorms as a freshman you are exposed to so many new and different people. I honestly believe that some of the people I have met will be in my life for a long time. If I had to do it all over again, I would absolutely pick SIUE all over again. I love the environment, the people, and the experience I am gaining by being here. There is not one thing I would want to change!
