Living on campus at Southeast Missouri State University is great. The campus is small, and the dining choices are plentiful, therefore making it easy to use your meal plan, no matter where you are. There is even a Starbucks on campus that we can use our meal plans at, too. That is very popular with a lot of students. Another things that makes Southeast a great place to live on campus, is the dining choices in the dormitories themselves. There are a couple of places, Merick Hall, and Towers, that have restaurants in the lobby of the dorm. This makes it very easy for students to come downstairs to get food and then go back upstairs and return to their studies.
However, there is a downfall to living on campus, and that is only being able to use your meal plan between certain hours of the day. There are dining options open late into the evening, but after 8 PM we can't use our meal plans to get food. Being a theatre student and working productions until all hours of the night, and then coming back to my room hungry because I can't use my meal plan is disappointing. This is, however, my only major critique to living on campus at Southeast Missouri State University.
SEMO has the best value for housing out of all of the colleges I looked at. The housing is of average quality, but the price is amazing.
Living in dorms is convenient because most of my classes are close by. I do not like the social atmosphere because a majority of the students here are really rude and inconsiderate. Also, I didn't realize how big of a party school this place really was. I'm constantly exposed to drunk students every weekend.
