Academic Experience: core classes are easier then basics.

3 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: They need to hire more professors for certain subjects, that way there will be more classes available on more days and different times. It can be frustrating at times with schedule conflicts.

3 College Junior

Online Courses: I've had some good experiences and some bad ones. The bad out weighed the good though.

3 College Junior

Career Services: Career center really needs some work.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Sometimes you can really see who the favorites are in class. Some get better help than others.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: The only employment you can find is far away.

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: I wish there was more hands on experience.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I feel like the college should think more about students that have to drive or use transportation that live far away. Building another culinary building close to the one they already have. They should have tried to build it close to their mid valley campus.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: There is not much opportunity

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: South texas college is not a bad school, it does the job for a small college. Except there could be things it needs help on, mostly regarding professors. Either professors there are very helpful or not at all.

3 College Junior

Career Services: There are some jobs offered at this school and it depends how you work and how organized you are to get a job.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: My math professor is a really good teacher in my class. I have never understood math so clearly until i had her and i have started to enjoy this math class.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Everything is average to me. You have to put yourself out there to understand the services on the campus.

4 College Junior

Academic Experience: My over all review is that it is hard if you don't put the effort to learn everything will feel like weights on your shoulder, but if you do everything you need to do you will find your major to be less frustrating.

5 College Junior

STC's originality and distinguishing characteristics are what make it special. The students, professors, faculty, and staff are exceptional. The majority of the students at STC believe that the education they receive is something to cherish and appreciate. Don’t think that just because STC is not the most recognized college that it is not worth attending. Being a student at STC means you will receive one-on-one attention from professors and staff who have a genuine interest in your education and success.

One thing you do have to learn to embrace while attending STC is the heat. Students at STC sweat out each semester, but not just because of the tests. Although the buildings are very well air-conditioned, the temperatures in the Rio Grande Valley usually elevate up to 110 degrees throughout late spring, summer, and early fall. Regardless of the heat, most students learn to overcome it and eventually fall in love with STC because of its close-knit atmosphere and caring people. STC isn’t just a college you leave behind in two years. It is a place where you make lifelong friends, have unforgettable experiences, and obtain the knowledge that you need to succeed in life.
