Health & Safety: There are police services always on duty.

4 College Senior

Overall Experience: The professors and environment allows me to grow as an individual.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Solid education and solid prospects.

Campus Housing: Dorms are great but overpriced.

2 College Sophomore

Athletics: Could be more emphasized and encouraged.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: Could be better but either way I love Sonoma.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: There are good internships, im actually trying to apply for KPMG.

3 College Junior

Campus Housing: I do not live on campus so I actually don't know what its like.

3 College Junior

Athletics: Im not much into athletics but it is alright. They do have a great cheerleading and football team.

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: Overall I like the smaller campus and the classes im taking are not far apart. I do dis like that there are not enough teachers for the subjects that I need to take so classes fill up fast and wait lists are pretty long. I do wish that they would add more classes and teachers to teach them. In the end the people are friendly and the work is doable.

4 College Freshman

Overall Experience: I felt welcomes at orientation

4 College Junior

Campus Housing: I don't live on campus

4 College Junior

Overall Experience: My first semester is this fall, so I don't have much of an experience.

2 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Not enough courses offered. People can't graduate in four years.

4 Recent Alumnus

Overall Experience: Good for my Women's and Gender Studies department.

3 Recent Alumnus

Health & Safety: School doesn't address issues properly or as if they care. They send out an email but that's all.

Overall Experience: The selection of courses is pretty bad. Most students have a very hard time getting classes they need. This is because a lot of teachers are leaving because in all honesty, teaching at SSU really isn't worth it. Them leaving means less classes and larger classes. SSU takes pride in having good student to teacher ratio for a public school, but that is quickly fleeting. I know of a student who was one class away from graduating, but they could not get that one class they needed. On top of that they were only able to get a few units because they were no other classes available. It is very difficult to graduate within 4 years, but the president himself said everyone can do it. What he didn't say is that you would probably have to take a ton of summer classes. Other than this, the teacher are pretty good. They are there for the students and they do their job.

Overall Experience: From what I have heard about alumni is that a degree from SSU has very little value.

Health & Safety: Safety on campus is pretty good, but there are some issues. The biggest issue is bike thefts. Students aren't steeling bikes, people in the surrounding communities are. Not much can be done about this other than increasing patrols and focusing on the target areas, the residential communities. There have been a few cases of sexual assault carried out by students and alcohol certainly plays a role. A majority of the campus is unlit at night so you have to be very careful, especially in some of the residential communities because maintenance is slow to replace light bulbs. I put in a requests for bulb replacements inside my dorm and right outside, but they never came.

Campus Housing: Living on campus is pretty good at SSU. We don't have the typical large dorm buildings, but rather smaller apartment type dorms. they are pretty spacious and the pricing is not too bad, but it is definitely cheaper to live off campus if you have a roommate or two.

Greek Life: Greek life is a damn joke and everyone at SSU knows that. Most of them are full of phonies just looking to have a group of friends to party with and that is literally all they do. They make no contributions with the intent of doing good. It is all just for show so it seems like they are doing something so they don't get disbanded. They are very selective too and only want the people they like. If you are not white then you better have money, if neither then goodbye. One of the worst parts of SSU. You can also tell that they are selective through their tabling outside the Student Center. They typically just stop certain people, ones that look like they would fit in to their fraternity or sorority. I'm done.

Athletics: Athletics at Sonoma State University are pretty good. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done. We have the Wolf Den for basketball and volleyball and it is a pretty good size. across from it is another indoor basketball court mostly for the martial art classes and also regular student use. There is the baseball field and soccer field, grass, it's pretty basic. The tennis courts are average as well. The Rec Center is pretty good, but it's new so that's to be expected. Other than the facilities, to me it does not seem like very many students care for athletics, but our football program has been undefeated for a pretty long time :-)

Overall Experience: Im confident in my abilities to obtain the highest degree possible
