4 College Freshman

Academic Experience: I have only taken my general education courses with SCC so I am excited to start on my degree courses at NKU.

Campus Resources: The faculty on campus is very helpful, I am currently attending Somerset Community College in KY and the staff of NKU is helping so much with me transferring into their school!

3 College Junior

Academic Experience: It's all relatively average for the most part. The workload and teachers are typically very reasonable or easy to manage.

2 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: Many professors are willing to compromise with students, but sometimes scheduling classes is a bit ridiculous, time-consuming, and tedious.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: I would keep it all the same; I am glad that I choose to stay local for the first two years.

3 College Junior

Overall Experience: Like every other educational institution, it varies between professors, but I have enjoyed many of the professors that I have met and certain ones will stay in my heart and memories for many years to come.

5 College Junior

Overall Experience: Very simple, straightforward, and easy to access.

Online Courses: This is by far SCC's biggest strength academically as a community college cannot host the ideal, perfect education for everyone. The online courses are fantastic from my experience and I have learned a lot through my own studying and diligence, but the coursework is more than manageable, it is almost too easy.

Student Body: The student body seems to be mostly average. I am always frustrated at the lack of participation in diversity events hosted by the Multicultural Club and it makes me think that a lot of the student body is just apathetic about this kind of thing and from what I have seen, a lot of them are also apathetic about their education.

5 College Junior

Tuition & Financial Aid: I have yet to run into any problems with the financial aid acceptance here and my tuition has always been relatively easy to manage.

College Junior

Career Services: I have yet to explore the transfer options yet, though I have known that they are a vital part of SCC enrollment.

Campus Resources: Somerset Community College is a place that is actually quite ideal for first year college students; small but pleasing campus (unless you step in the Cooper bathrooms), a library, while not necessarily extensive, has most anything you could ever really need, wonderful teachers and faculty members, typically all friendly, eager to assist the student body, and are actually good at their jobs. Campus life offers a variety of different events and clubs, hosted by and for all kinds of people, and an appropriate number for a small community college. The one problem is that so few people take the opportunity or initiative to participate. Much of the student body does not stay involved or interested in any of the activities or events on campus and this leads to very poor attendance and sign-ups for most of the smaller clubs. Unfortunately, the smaller clubs seem to be all but the SGA, Phi Theta Kappa, and the Anime Club. Certain programs seem to lack faculty, i.e. the art club run entirely by one woman, bless her. The online learning programs on the other hand have a very simplistic approach, though it's up to each student to take what they can out of the classes. The only negative extends throughout and it's the "small-town mentality" that overshadows the place unfortunately leaving for wanting in a few areas. All in all, I have enjoyed my experience at SCC and can not say that I regret a second.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Flexibility: I love the flexibility of the online classes that I'm enrolled in.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: It's been ok for the price of online classes but it's very unorganized. They are also unreliable.

2 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I'm rather disappointed in how the courses are run by the professors.

3 College Sophomore

Overall Experience: I am only getting an Associates Degree to then transfer to receive my Bachelor's.

2 College Sophomore

Online Courses: I do not like how online classes are handled at Somerset Community College. They do not seem organized and constantly confuse the students.

College Sophomore

Student Body: I am not regularly on campus. All of my classes are online classes.

5 College Sophomore

Tuition & Financial Aid: The classes are what could be considered affordable for a college setting.

3 College Sophomore

Career Services: I've not graduated from this school yet but hope to in the summer.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: It's about average. The classes dive right into the work.

3 College Sophomore

Academic Experience: It's surprising how much they offer being a technical community college.

4 College Junior

Academic Flexibility: It was very simple followed directions and all went well.

3 College Student

Career Services: Haven't had a chance to explore.

3 College Student

Academic Experience: Workload is normal and everything else hasn't cone. I am not in the program yet.
