Off-Campus Dining: Wide variety of delicious off campus dining options, however, most places close before 10pm.

4 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Great variety of restaurants. They can be expensive, bit it's worth it.

5 College Freshman

Off-Campus Dining: Northampton is a perfect college town, very liberal, artsy, hipster, and worldly. So is the food. So many different types of restaurant options are available. I had Vietnamese food for the first time in this town and I love it!

This town of 30,000 is famous for its incredible array of delicious restaurants, from sushi to Thai to vegetarian, as well as its much-loved cafés that serve as student study spaces and social hubs on weekends. Students, however, say that they don’t get to enjoy all of the restaurants Northampton has to offer because they’re either too busy or too broke. And, most of the Northampton restaurants, like many of the stores here, don’t cater to college students and are too pricey for regular dining, so eating out is often reserved for special occasions or when family is in town.

There are cheap options in the many diners and cafés, but most don’t have wait service, which many students are looking for when they treat themselves to a night out. When students do venture out on the town, they often pick Bueno Y Sano, La Veracruzana, India House, or Viva Fresh Pasta Co. for the good food and fair prices. La Veracruzana doesn't have wait service and has a more casual atmosphere than many of the other restaurants, which makes it cheap and easy to go out to dinner with friends. A local business called Delivery Express offers delivery services from an impressive array of restaurants and cafés in the Northampton area. With only a nominal fee and late-night hours, this is an attractive option for students unwilling or unable to make the trek downtown for local fare.
