Transportation: Everything is so close. The happy bus makes it so easy to get where you need to go.

2 College Senior

Transportation: Shuttles make a loop around campus and to the Ivy and South Rock apartments, and you really have to plan ahead if you are going to use it. Times are semi-reliable. The Happy Bus is also pretty helpful in being carted around before and after parties.

3 College Freshman

Transportation: This is a small campus in a small town and transportation is not a big problem.

The Happy Bus is a green-and-white shuttle that sticks to a convenient schedule and brings joy to one and all. It not only loops around campus, but also makes stops at most off-campus housing complexes and, more importantly, Giant Eagle. It’s a great service to utilize in the wicked winter weather and definitely saves students from a lot of walking. The Happy Bus also offers certain field trips throughout the year to hot locations like the Waterfront in Pittsburgh, the Grove City Prime Outlets, and the Clearview Mall in Butler.

Beginning on “Thirsty Thursday” and continuing all weekend long, the Happy Bus runs a late-night service to ensure the safety of party-goers and to prevent drunk driving. Though the Happy Bus is used widely in the mornings by shuttling students to classes, many students do not use the service on weekends. The reason is that students do not yet realize that the free service is not designed specifically to nab drunken students. Students are never carded and no questions are asked, which makes for a great system of safety that should be widely utilized.
